The state of yimby economics in 2025: shitty clip art and the hermit crab myth of trickle down housing affordability to justify, and I quote, "expensive new condos"
New housing is expensive and not affordable to the poor. But the people who can afford to live in the new building vacate their old home, which is affordable. The affordability benefits of new housing are indirect.
Hey @fuelgrannie he updated it!
New and improved vacancy chain, now with two links.
"Trickle-down" = when they pee on your leg (and post shit like this) and tell you it's raining.

This is kind of like the Cuomo campaign.
This Savannah Bananas baseball performer face plants a backflip on CNN live.

Finding a Chinese supporter at this TransAlt rally in Chinatown is like looking for Waldo in sea of white socialist gentrifiers.
Anyone else notice what crucial element this Chinatown @TransAlt rally is missing?
Fauxgressives don’t make a stink about lack of sidewalks, so long as private corporations can litter the public realm with micromobility machines.

Wow. Over 61,000 New Yorkers voted for me …. that’s over 6% of voters citywide. A campaign with zero dollars, left out of every article, debate, forum basically erased from the convo. And still, a football stadium full of people ranked me for mayor. Thank you. I see you.…
Disappointed that no one posted the donut video.
Excited and grateful to welcome the support of Manhattan Councilmember @ebottcher! “The hunger for a new generation of leaders ready to deliver bold, transformative change is palpable, and Zohran embodies that spirit."
What?
Yea I mean basically. Gentrification is a good thing. It means your city is either affordable to live or they’re building housing at a good rate and therefore people wanna live there

Imagine thinking the suburbs are all white.
I actually think a lot of gentrification in NYC is just a reversal of 60s White flight from poor diverse areas. As these areas have become much safer over time, young people have done the reverse, preferring to move from all white suburbs to cheaper diverse areas in cities

When I grew up poor in Mao’s China, we lived on food rations with 2.7 lbs protein (all meats/eggs) total per month for a family of 5. Boiling veggies was a common dish because pork fat or oil was a luxury. Is this want you want from Mamdani’s gov grocery stores? Socialism Sucks!
Phish concert at Forest Hills Stadium. Donovan Richards calls residents racist for opposing this degradation of their neighborhood. And Forest Hills is half minority, many Asians & Latinos. Democrats continue to harm our families & communities by catering to their extremist base.
If you’re wondering why neighbors are upset w/the Forest Hills Stadium, try imagining coming home from work to crowds of open drug sales/use 20 ft from your door. What happened to caring about “quality of life” @NYCMayor @NYPDPC @NYPDnews @NY_SLA?
A day when I can get home from work without an interception from a “Free Free Free PAL-IS-TINE” drum-banging hoard of losers is a good day.
