Provisionist Standards

Provisionists... our standards are so high we have 2 of them.
Amen. May we all think this way
Fully agree. We’re not each other’s enemies. We’re brothers if we love Christ.
No, because the wealth of comforting theological devotion that has been produced by Reformed Theology is invaluable to the life of the church. Despite my disagreements with Lewis, Tozer, or Wesley, their works (from devotional material to hymns) have been of great comfort and…
God made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything in them in six days.
Calvinists are free willers. Sincerely, A Calvinist.
Again, this is why a right understanding of law/gospel distinction is so important.
When you say the commandments are impossible to keep, you're agreeing with Satan, that Christ is unfair.
What goes through your mind when you share the gospel and the person rejects it?
I wonder how Christian discourse would change on this app if we all genuinely asked questions of each others positions and accepted the answers instead of telling each other what they believe... for a week. Maybe even just a day. Man, that would be wild
“Many have been melted under the heat of prosperity, losing their godly character, though they previously withstood the scorching heat of affliction.” — Jeremiah Burroughs (Contentment, Prosperity, and God’s Glory, 35)
True
T or F? God has endued the will of man with that natural liberty, that is neither forced, nor, by any absolute necessity of nature, determined good, or evil.
Wild since he judged the salvation of JMac
Lordship (un)Salvation naturally leads to judging salvation of others. Their own salvation often comes into self-doubt as well. Because they believe works are a measuring stick, and a Christian (& any human) can never compete with perfection via works. youtu.be/b8IbaVTtDfk?si…
The lack of precision in language forced by this app causes confusion and problems. But it drives engagement so thats cool.
What is God in control of, and ehat does that mean to you?
This sounds a lot like God had to save people necessarily rather than because of grace. Isn't the point of grace that we all deserve hell but He decided to make a way for redemption. He would be no less good if He hadn't. Interested in other fleshed out takes. Am I wrong here?
If God formed all people in His own image, and yet He intentionally doomed every one of them to the Lake of Fire unconditionally without a Savior, then His will would mirror that of Satan's will who desires the destruction of all people. That would make the Kingdom of Light…
Jesus is Yahweh in the flesh. Not just a teacher, prophet, or angel. God Himself. Only through Him is salvation possible. Call on Jesus. 🙏🏼
Talk of "wheeling in" and pictures of a casket and name a day after anyone dies is a trash thing for a believer to do. Let's be honest. Its not the worst thing and its not going to send the person to hell. Its just a trash thing to do.
Anyone posting “there are no ‘two wills’ in God” to suggest that volitional complexity is absurd has himself engaged in volitional complexity at the time they posted. There were other things they truly wanted to do at that moment, but executed the volition to post on X instead.
Correct. There is only one will with a different way it relates to different things (if referring to the “secret/revealed will” distinction). His secret/decretive will is that which He has ordained to effect or permit. His revealed/prescriptive will is that which He commands,…
There are no “two wills” in God
