Slave of Christ. Husband to Megan. Father to Nathaniel and Rebecca. Member of a 1689 Reformed Baptist church. I know nothing except Jesus Christ crucified.
I honestly thought this was a parody/satire graph, made by some MAGAs to dunk on the Democrats when I first saw the it… Turns out it was actually posted by the Democrats themselves. Liberalism is a mental disorder.
Honestly, I don’t understand all the hoopla going on about Barrett becoming Anglican, especially from Reformed guys who have bookshelves packed with J. I. Packer, J. C. Ryle, John Scott, etc., while singing hymns by Augustus Toplady. Let’s all take a breath, yeah?
Yikes. The guy who, on the day John MacArthur died, accused MacArthur of preaching a false works-based gospel is the same guy now calling Ozzy Osborne, the self-proclaimed “Prince of Darkness,” his “brother.” This is rotten fruit borne from rotten theology.
Oh Ozzy… you wild, beautiful soul. You gave misfits like me a soundtrack for our lives. Beneath the madness was a tender heart that understood pain, and sang it loud. Crazy, Iron Man you—thank you for the honesty, the chaos, the comfort. Rest now, brother. Grace has the final…
“It is not sound and orthodox to teach that we must forsake sin in order to our coming to Christ.” Explain why
Modern Reformed guys on X: “No! We can’t just appeal to mystery. Here is a perfectly reasonable explanation for the relationship between God’s providence and man’s will.” Old dead Reformed guys: “Here is a sermon titled ‘The Mystery of Providence.’ Signed, John Murray.”
The confessions are filled with language that naturally conclude that God “decreed to permit sin,” even if they don’t use this exact terminology. Some of you guys who call yourselves Reformed need to realize that this is nothing more than historic Calvinism. Stop denying it.
“He decreed to permit sin, and on account of it justly to condemn, for this end, so that in it the majesty of his justice would be made manifest…” —Petrus Van Mastricht Theorhetical Practical Theology Vol. 3:2
The haul from the recent @RHB_Books sale. Thank you for all your dedication to making these amazing works available at good prices!

Hot Take: It's possible to disagree with Provisionism overall and yet still have agreements on specifics that all Christians should affirm. This won't kill you, fellow Calvinists. Calm down.
Although God knows whatsoever may or can come to pass, upon all supposed conditions, yet has He not decreed anything, because He foresaw it as future, or as that which would come to pass upon such conditions.
It was God’s will that Christ through the blood of the cross (by which he confirmed the new covenant) should effectively redeem from every people, tribe, nation, and language all those and only those who were chosen from eternity to salvation and given to him by the Father.
As the providence of God does in general reach to all creatures, so after a more special manner it takes care of His church, and disposes of all things to the good thereof.
If your theological framework is built to avoid and resolve all mysteries then it can be guaranteed to have significant error(s) within.
Everything in this world exists to glorify God and serve the elect
People just… say things sometimes. Arguments like this, as I’ve said in the past, gives me confident that Reformed theology will be just fine, despite the armies of online warriors that want to destroy it.
Theistic determinism is the theological equivalent of thinking we live in a simulation.
This is correct.
God made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything in them in six days.
