On Saturday July 19, 2025, PBP Homicide detectives arrested Dominic Pinnick, 18, following the aggravated assault of a 10-month-old baby left in his care in the 7100 block of Kedron St. The child has since passed away at the hospital. Pinnick is being held at the ACJ.

SVU detectives are looking for a missing 77 yo. Pastor Rodriguez-Rivera Jr. was last seen on 7/20/25, in the 1000 block of Herron Ave. He speaks both English and Spanish but prefers Spanish. He is 5’7”, 130 lbs, w/ white/grey hair, & brown eyes. Call (412) 323-7141 or 911.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police held a promotion ceremony for five detectives and two officers who were promoted to the rank of sergeant this afternoon. One officer was sworn in yesterday at Police Headquarters by Acting Chief Devine. Congratulations to our eight new sergeants!




On this day, we remember our brother and friend, Pittsburgh Police Officer Calvin Hall, who lost his life on July 17, 2019. His words "Time for me to make a difference" are written outside the Officer Calvin M. Hall Public Safety Center where he worked and for which it is named.

PBP is aware of an incident involving two pit bulls fatally attacking a third, smaller, dog in Carrick. Police and AC & C determined that this attack actually occurred in 03/25 and all dogs were owned by the same people. AC&C will be issuing citations. Investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, June 25, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police held a graduation ceremony swearing in 28 new officers. After completing 40 weeks at the Training Academy, the officers from Basic Recruit Class 24-03 became the latest group to join the ranks of the PBP. Congratulations!
