What is the Personal Independence Payment? Or PIP, as it is affectionately known! Don’t believe the hype. It’s a benefit with clear rules, regulations and claiming processes. Easy to get? Errr, no. It’s extremely difficult to get. Let’s take a deep dive into #PIP with the…
Got zero issue with anyone claiming #DisabilityBenefits if they need them. I'm perfectly fine with "my taxes" going towards their provision. Why? 1 Because I'm not a selfish prick who doesn't GAF about vulnerable ppl. 2 One day. If I'm unlucky enough. That might be me.
For every 500 messages, one says 'Wait until we hear the details.' But this misses the point. If (and only if) you have the spoons, protesting now is vital—not just to pressure MPs to revolt but to shape what even gets announced. We are not passive; we mould. #Disability Benefits
I would love to see Kier Starmer, Liz Kendall and Stephen Timms (disability minister) face a group of disabled people and their carers to try and justify the cuts in benefits for disabled people. Don’t think they would get very far! #DisabilityBenefits #Disabled #Disability
If your brave enough to think you can change the world then very often you will. Today we won this at the @ExpertCitizens we are beyond proud. Sometimes being the one to say stop we have it wrong is hard. This tells us we have it right. The system must be family lead always

Very proud of tonight’s achievement. PEGiS has the most amazing parents

Finally somebody gets it People who are neurodiverse will experience anxiety differently and maybe mental health differently and here is why @CombinedNHS @StaffsStokeICB @mpftnhs
Listen to the story of the Nora a much loved girl who sounds like she brings much joy to her family and friends, but navigating life with a child with complex needs is tough. @PegisStoke made me think of all our families with complex needs bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand/m…
Thoughts? 1 Billion for SEND in the budget but how will it be spent? Will it: -make LAs follow the law & be accountable -mean EHCP assessments & annual reviews are completed within legal timescales -provide therapies to match needs -reduce tribunal wait times OR -plug deficits
Caring for my loved one isn’t hard. It’s the hurdles health and social care make me jump that tires me!! Why doesn’t the system help carers instead of trying to knock us down?

Never estimate a small group of people trying to change the system I proudly show off all of our PEGiS team who challenge the system and support our families through the send system

Don't miss the chance to access this carers support programme and support this important study @CombinedNHS @PegisStoke @RcnLDForum @JonathanBeebee @PaulaMc007
We are still recruiting carers in 2024 for the Carers-ID project. If you are interesting or know of someone who may be interested in taking part please contact [email protected]
The system is hard it’s designed to pitch us against each other however it’s so important to celebrate all the amazing people within the system to. Many go above and over for our families and we want to celebrate these people and say thank you

What does a carer actually want? Something to think about as we rethink @Stoke_onTrent carers strategy… @PeterTomlin4 @AWildStoke @JonRouse9

I still can’t believe we are 10 years old. When I look back over the years I smile PEGiS has faced so many challenges. We have certainly made sure that nobody forgets the parent voice. This is why PEGiS does it for free there is no personal gain. We just want to help all
