Big fan of people, mostly. Livin large in Charlton. Part of the (latest) #SaveTheWhiteSwan campaign.
Great reward for the submissions made by community members and groups - and not least the work done by @Royal_Greenwich officers and cllrs - in seeing this appeal dismissed. Still many more miles to travel, but first, a pint.
🎉 BIG NEWS: The plan to turn our community pub into a supermarket has been REJECTED! 🦢👏 Our voices made this happen - stay tuned as we plan our next steps together... 🍻 Read more: greenwichwire.co.uk/2024/06/13/dev… #SaveTheWhiteSwan
To be fair this is also true for those of us who weren't even that good at our job in the first place.
If you're really good at your job, you will reach a point where the only way to progress up the pay scale is to stop doing that job that you're brilliant at and instead become a "manager", an entirely different discipline which you may not be suited to.
Must be tough for the league one promotion winning #cafc boys seeing these big new signings coming in.
Hey @grok who is the person who has most ignored my frequent likes and reposts? And why might that be? Be brutal.
Lucky we're in Charlton @WhiteSwanArts
The whites do what in Eton??
Another joy from @CHATHMuseum, posters for the '74 Who gig. A mate of mine went door to door in SE7 for a school project in 1990, asking residents if they'd like to see #CACF return to the Valley. The overwhelming reply was 'Yes, so long as the fucking Who never play here again'.

Was a total blast today visiting @CHATHMuseum, cannot recommend highly enough, a real hidden gem. Was a real highlight seeing the floodlight 'liberated' from the Valley after the 1985 departure and finding out the liberator (turned donator) was the much missed Dave Thomson.

Ashamed to say how long this took, but at the same time, a crowning achievement of my time on this earth. #balatro

The excellent Beats, Boards, and BBQ event from our local The Friends of Charlton Park is today based around the skate park in Charlton Park! 1pm to 5pm. Come one, come all! #se7. #Charlton. #skateboarding
I know 'Marina Hyde is brilliant' tweets are the second most tedious tweets after those 'I never visit Londonistan anymore' tweets, but... Marina Hyde is brilliant. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Remember when we learned that our wealthiest and most powerful people were connected to a guy who ran a literal child sex trafficking ring? And then that guy died mysteriously in a jail? And now we just don't talk about it.
Boom time! It’s the annual Maryon Wilson Animal Park Open Day on Saturday 21st June. Come one, come all! #se7. #charlton #greenwich
Great night seeing Ratko Mladić at the Leicester Square theatre tonight. He never fails to entertain. Has let himself go a bit to be fair.

Due to some true ineptitude I have a spare ticket for #LCDSoundsystem tonight. And by tonight I mean doors open at 5pm, they are on at 7pm (I think). Paid £65, will accept far lower. DM me.
Sure, it's all fun and games at the moment, but Jesus the sheer number of emergency podcasts on the way right now...
this is like kendrick vs drake but with two drakes
According to my feed at least, Jenrick is leading with knife crime, and Badenoch has just made her 20th reference to the Chagos Islands.
Another question. A band I want to see have announced a gig, but it's at ICA. I've been there once a long time ago and I remember it as a really soulless venue. Am I remembering wrong? #chatgptquestionsbutontwitter
Anyone pay for Strava? Is it worth it? I'm trying to exercise more and I like the idea of seeing trends and PBs and stuff, but is it actually likely to help me get fitter?
