As Christians, we can get so caught up in admonishing sin we forget to advocate for the One whoβll fix everything. Christ will forgive every sin a person commits. Advocate for Him, and Heβll fix the rest.
Here's a thread based on a deep dive on baptism by immersion I did over the past few days. I'm not going to argue that I'm perfectly objective (I'm not... I'm biased), but I think I did a relatively good job of going through the scriptures + early writings < about 250AD.
After doing a deep dive on baptism over the last few days, I even more strongly hold the view that baptism must be done by immersion. The symbolism/typology is magnificent. It's how Christ was baptized. It's how the Apostles baptized. It's how the early, ancient church baptized.
I've been doing a (very deep) dive on baptism by immersion in my studies over the last few days. While doing so, I came across this little nugget in Hippolytus's "Apostolic Tradition." Quite, shall we say, curious. (This is around 215AD).
Right!? Imagine how silly it must be to believe that Jesus would visit scattered Israelites after His resurrectionβ¦ π€¦ββοΈ
Mormons saying Jesus came to America after His resurrection is no different than saying He also preached in Middle Earth and Narnia, too. The LDS crowd cannot be taken seriously...
You have to throw a lot of the New Testament to arrive at this.
Jesus didnβt start a church. He died a Jew. A 10-part𧡠Letβs cut through the doctrine and get to the history. 1. Jesus of Nazareth wasnβt a Christian. He was a Torah-observing Jew. He went to synagogue, kept kosher, celebrated Jewish festivals and preached repentance, mercy,β¦

Okay guys - here it is. Oaks in Belgium. Same tie, etc. I watched his whole talk and not one mention of Heavenly Mother. He never clasps his hands once. He sounds like the President Oaks you know. His awesome talk is about unity, progression, obedience, etc. Itβs classic Oaksβ¦
So, I watched this and enjoyed it. I feel like @ThougtfulSaint is presenting a false dichotomy with the concept of A and B time - as if there are no other possibilities. That, in my view, is why his view falls short. We have free will, and God can see all things beginning to end.β¦
