"My rule is, there is nothing so big nor so crazy that one out of a million technological societies may not feel itself driven to do, provided it is physically possible." - Freeman Dyson Exploring the discovery of 60 possible Dyson Sphere candidates with @Astro_Wright 👇
So, fun story I've been working on this week for @newscientist Astronomers have found *60* Dyson sphere candidates in the Milky Way! Now, it's probably not aliens. But it's always fun to look, right? Story by me and quick 🧵 (1/X) newscientist.com/article/243060…
Dyson spheres are vast structures that could be used by aliens to capture the energy of a star - and astronomers have found signals from 60 stars in the Milky Way consistent with such devices. newscientist.com/article/243060…
