My first article as gone live on @scribehound_ctr! An introductory piece discussing some of the ideological underpinnings of the countryside that Labour have abandoned. Looking forward to some high-level debate about the future of our country! scribehound.com/countryside/li…
I smell bullshit. A rightwing shit stirring bandwagon jumping keyboard warrior looking for a cause to jump on to boost an ego. I’m sure there are some desperate slightly deluded farmers who are drawn to your clickbait. But this shit is not what our industry needs.
About the sum of it...
The govt was looking for an excuse to stop bps, and regen handed them the excuse on a plate..no govt research was done at all that I saw and now we have no bps and no sfi while Europe gives more grant in a policy reversal and Britain gives it's ag.mkt to the USA.
To me, @Groundswellaguk was an elitist blob of antiscientific ideas that undermines what evidence-based regen ag could be. It normalises the neomalthusian idea that 'feeding the world' was wrong. Far from being progressive, Groundswell is very scary youtu.be/wM0PiX3psps
Wow! This is exactly what has happened. Labour have planned this for years, we were blind to see it. What’s more if this is by design (not mistake) then we won’t turn this ship around. 👇
It’s curious but back in 2016, the Times wrote that we’d have to wait for a Labour govt to finish of agriculture and agree USA deal. Time to cut our greedy farmers down to size thetimes.com/article/7e452e…
In my book Words From The Hedge, I dedicate a chapter to @Jes_Squirrell's farm. When it was published, this was a positive chapter. One year into the Starmer administration and that positivity is leaking away. READ THIS THREAD.
After #Groundswell, usually I come away from it feeling inspired, and full of aspiration and drive for another year and a bright future. This year however, I haven’t. Government policies have completely changed my thought process. A thread 🧵@SteveReedMP @RachelReevesMP 1/19

Important thread
Nigel Farage is speaking at a farmers' protest backed by Together, whose co-founders include an anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist and an anti-vaccine homeopath. Speaking alongside Farage are Together's own Alan Miller and Adam Brooks.🧵
We need to get better at explaining WHY farming has been supported and how that improves lives as part of the welfare state
Reality of UK trade policy laid bare here, deals require concessions and there have never been the conversations required about that. Fortunately for government the UK farming lobby is among the weakest in the world, certainly no match for the Home Office. theguardian.com/business/2025/…
Stop 🛑 defending Brexit fantasy and start telling the truth!!! Since Brexit, British agriculture has been caught in a peculiar double bind. The damage began with Brexit — but hasn’t ended there. Labour doesn’t need to say it’s anti-farming. Its fiscal plans speak for…
Immensely important, extremely hypocritical from a group that has consistently attacked me and SBF, calling for unity under the shady conspiracy group @Togetherdec. 'Not here to please politicians': Farmers to Action are the enemy of this industry x.com/farmerstoactio…
Excellent post in @FarmersWeekly this week giving the truth.
It’s really interesting that you say this about the NFU. But my issue is that as much as the NFU has its faults like any organisation I would say that currently the NFU have represented Farmers under the umbrella of the inheritance tax (led by Tom Bradshaw) has been very good.…
The irony of calling for industry solidarity whilst trying to sow division. Get behind the biggest industry advocate that we have and if you don't like the way it operates then join and make your mark from within.
This is what a spokesperson looks like! Well said 👏👏
Meanwhile back in the REAL world of farming we have actual issues and don’t play dress up for the twitter pics!!! No to bandwagon jumpers and grifters!!!?
I’d rather catch cow shit and clap big man you making a mockery out of our industry!!!!
It seems Farmers to Action don't like questions about their relationship with @Togetherdec. We must not let these conspiracy groups pretend to represent our communities

This is a good article regarding these weird groups that have popped up in the last few years - Together, Farmers To Action, No Farmers, No Food. I wonder if they’re all tied to Reform UK somehow? theferret.scot/are-conspiracy…
Way to win people over by branding them 'eco-zealots'. Yet another brewing comms disaster for the industry courtesy of @FarmersToAction fwi.co.uk/news/rural-upr…
