It’s not just me who thinks the players’ association — which has blocked me for yrs — is a bad labor union; Scipio Spinks, who played for the @Cardinals and @astros and is one of the 500+ retirees w/o @mlb pensions, is “tired of this BS with the @Mlbpa.” bittercupbaseball.com/2025/07/12/sci…
RIP OZZY OSBOURNE Ozzy’s rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame was…interesting. It was still better than whatever they called that performance during the MLB All-Star Game roster announcements.
Learned some real cool history in my hometown today. This field in town was the part-time home field of the 1935 New York Cubans & also held barnstorming games. Many HOFers played here & according to the plaque, Josh Gibson hit a 600 ft HR here. Ocean wind blowing out I guess!

On the day Lou Gehrig made his Luckiest Man Speech, his Yankee teammates gifted him this trophy with this poem inscribed. It’s really awesome.

It’s great that despite all the dumb changes to the MLB All-Star team they maintain every team getting a rep. Fans in every city should be able to bring their kids to the TV to see the hometown guy announced & play.

Among these four NL players, who do you think will win the batting title? This poll includes the top-3 NL hitters in batting average & the defending batting champion Luis Arráez Feel free to comment other. (Tomorrow I will run a poll for the AL batting title)
I agree about this sentiment. The 2008 Home Run Derby was one of the best sporting events I ever attended.
The @MLB Home Run Derby used to be can’t miss television. That is no longer the case! I made the executive decision to watch the replay of the 2008 Home Run Derby instead. I was fortunate enough to witness Josh Hamilton put on a show in @Yankees Stadium in person. I still get…
RIP JIM CLANCY Did you know that for the entirety of the 1980s, either Dave Steib or Jim Clancy started every game for the Blue Jays? Also, you got one Jim Clancy in every Topps pack of baseball cards you purchased. At least that’s the way I remember it. Damn solid pitcher.

An underreported side of the #MLB #MLBPA #CBA is owner leverage. Stadium operations fixed costs. Owners have already turned stadiums into entertainment complexes that host more than MLB games. Stadium concert series across MLB likely could likely cover stadium operations fixed…
A lockout is MLB's primary economic weapon, says @MLBPA Deputy Executive Director Bruce Meyer. "It's a bad thing for the game. It's a bad thing for the fans. It's a bad thing for the players and their families."
