OVSJG’s staff & summer interns toured both the Office of Chief Medical Examiner & @DCDFS to learn about the agencies & the programs that OVSJG funds to support DC residents. They gained information on how their work supports the public safety & justice cluster. #saferstrongerDC




Director Porter attended @ONSEDC_ 2nd annual healing communities symposium with the theme of: An Integrated Approach to Violence Interruption. Participants engaged in dialogue to learn ways to #StepUptoStandDown to violence. #SaferStrongerDC




Today, Director Porter was the guest speaker for @dcfireems Empowering Women to Lead (EWTL) 2024-2025 cohort commencement ceremony. This program has prepared the participants to embark on their leadership journeys. #womenleaders



OVSJG’s summer intern visited @SecretaryofDC office and learned about the roles and responsibilities of Secretary Bassett and all the offices within her portfolio. She was informed how Secretary Bassett represents DC both nationally and internationally. #MBSYEP2025

June is Pride Month, which is an annual celebration dedicated to honoring the LGBTQIA+ community. OVSJG’s grantee @HIPSDC hosted a resource fair to provide information & resources for transgender reentry services, safer sex materials, housing navigation services & more etc!


June is Gun Violence Awareness Month—a time to reflect on the impact of gun violence & to support efforts that bring healing, hope, and change to our communities. The Journey Project music group listening event was a moment that welcomed healing through music. #endgunviolence
