NeuroGenomics and Informatics Center
@Neuro_Genomics
Our goal is to understand the biology of neurodegeneration by using high-dimensional omic data & functional genomic at @WUSTLmed
The NeuroGenomics and Informatics Center neurogenomics.wustl.edu is growing; new faculties will join in 2023. We are looking for an Executive Director (nature.com/naturecareers/…) that will be instrumental in shaping the direction of the center moving forward. Apply now!
Very glad to be part of this new effort in collaboration with the @WashUNeurology . We have already collected DNA, RNA and plasma for comic analyses in around 3000 European Ancestry and 50 African ancestry Parkinson's disease cases and looking forward to extending it further.
🎉 Announcing 4 new BLAAC PD sites! @UTHealth_Neuro, @WashUNeurology, @UH_RE_Institute, and @MUSCHealth will join the current 6 sites in helping us better understand gene changes that may cause #PD in Black and African Americans across the U.S. and world
Blood-based #biomarkers, such as p-tau217 & #amyloidβ 42/40 ratios, can be powerful tools for #Alzheimer's diagnosis. In our July issue, Drs. Tanner (@UTHealthSA) and Schindler (@WashUMedADRC) discuss how neurologists can select and interpret these tests for optimal outcomes.…
Around 5-10% of the #Alzheimers cases are early-onset, and are understudied. In a multiancestry genetic study of Early-onset AD we identified eight novel genes that point to dysregulation of glutamate, immune activation @WashUMedADRC @WashUNeurology alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/al…
Many articles reported using an antibody ... that didn’t even bind the key protein in Laflamme’s testing. Those articles had been over 3,000 times. The key question is: ◼️ Can binders achieve high specificity for every epitope & proteoform ? Some investors assume an answer.
Join @WashUGenetics this Thursday (Dec. 12, 12pm CST) in Connor Auditorium when Dr. Alison Goate presents “Human genetics implicates Efferocytosis as an Alzheimer’s disease risk hub”, hosted by Dr. Peter Jin @PETERJIN999 !
Integrating GWAS and protein quantitative trait loci, scientists link 38 proteins to Alzheimer’s, 24 of them new. @WUSTL @NatureGenet @ccrugom ow.ly/hX7O50UoJTE
In collaboration with @laura_actg we benchmarked the @AlamarBio platform demonstrating that reliable measures key #alzheimers biomarkers in CSF and plasma with an accuracy similar to other well validated platforms @WashUMedADRC @WashUNeurology alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/al…
Amazing work by @laura_actg and her lab identifying non-proteomics biomarkers, specifically circular RNAs for #Parkinsons, with AUC>0.95!! Impressive. Very pioneering work with important implications @WashUNeurology. Supported by @MichaelJFoxOrg nature.com/articles/s4153…

Make sure to join us for AAIC advancement: APOE & Lipid Biology. There's going to be some great new insights into everything APOE! Abstract submission deadline is Dec 2. alz.org/apoe/overview.…
Thrilled to share that my first-author ADAD paper is now published in Cell (Principle) @CellCellPress ! 🎉 This exciting milestone comes just before I make the move to join @MoffittNews, where I'll be working with Dr. Yu and Dr. Li @UrogerliMD . I am deeply grateful for the…
We leverage human multi-omic data to identify causal and druggable targets and to create novel predictive models for #Alzheimers . Come to use the four talks and four posters at the #AAIC24. neurogenomics.wustl.edu/the-neurogenom…. @WUADRC @Neuro_Genomics @WashUNeurology
Heading out tomorrow for #AAIC24 and #PIA day. Come check out what we are doing at the intersection of ADRD, genomics, multi-omics, sex dimorphism, and ancestry! Also delighted to announce I am #ALZFunded @alzassociation with an AARG to advance our X chromosome work in AD *& PD!
11 of our NGI Center researchers who are showcasing their recent work on Alzheimer’s disease either through oral presentations, guided poster tours, and posters. Come see us in Philadelphia!

Excited to team up with @YangEricLi and @TristanLi_Lab to study microglial enhancers in Alzheimer's disease. We are so grateful for the generous support from @Neuro_Genomics! Can't wait to get started!
Great work from Tim Holman and team expanding our previous work identifying MS4A as the major regulator of TREM2 levels: …arneurodegeneration.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
