NYC Sanitation
@NYCSanitation
World's largest municipal sanitation force. We collect 24M pounds of trash/recycling a day. Acct. not monitored 24 hrs. User policy: http://on.nyc.gov/2uBAABu
Litter baskets are for coffee cups & candy wrappers – NOT for dropping off your household or business trash. And not for recyclable cardboard boxes! Who is the gill-ty party?! Members of #NewYorksStrongest did a fin-tastic job cleaning this corner in @susanzhuangnyc’s district.
Cameras are EVERYWHERE! Don't get caught doing something you *maybe* shouldn't be doing. Thinking about doing something naughty, like dumping trash in the City? We've got video cameras all over. We WILL catch you - and you will pay the price!

While we’ve got some big machinery to help with cleaning, sometimes there’s no substitute for the hard work of getting it done by hand! Yes, our Highway Unit uses mechanical brooms – but New York’s Strongest are also out in force, sweeping and raking litter and debris to keep…

If only it was as easy as waving a magic wand… Keeping the City clean, safe and healthy is NOT magic. #NewYorksStrongest work EVERY DAY to clean up the messes left behind. Don’t trash NYC.
Summertime = buzz cuts! 💇 #NewYorksStrongest gave a little snip to the center medians with tresses that were in need of a chop! ✂️ Ahh, looking better now.

“Tired” of the mess? Yeah, us too! Thankfully, #NewYorksStrongest are on the case, working each day to keep NYC clean, safe and healthy. Don't mess with New York. Don't trash our city.

Someone have a party in the bike lane? Bike lanes, shoulders of roadways, sidewalks and streets are NOT places to leave your litter. Don't mess with New York. Don't trash our city.
Earlier today, Acting Sanitation Commissioner Lojan joined @NYCMayor Adams on a walk-though of the Hub. While Sanitation has long-worked to attend to the area around 149th and 3rd, a new all-of-government approach will give the people of the South Bronx the quality of life they…

Last week, after seeing reports of poor conditions at The Hub, we sent our city agencies to make things clean and safe for everyone. We won't let any areas be neglected. @NYCSanitation, @NYPDNews, and @NYC_DOT will stay on the ground to maintain and further improve conditions.
No. Nope. Don't do this! We caught these DUMPERS in the act - leaving a pile of broken asphalt along the street & sidewalk in the Bronx. We issued two $4,000 violations and impounded the truck. Don’t dump on our City.💥

What’s the MUST HAVE this summer?! It’s a trash bin, of course! Trash bins are required for smaller buildings (& businesses!). And our pilot using bins for larger apartment buildings is well underway. Learn more: nyc.gov/UseBins.

More than 7,000 NYC residents have taken home more than 3,400,000 pounds of compost so far this season – and you can be one of them! Get bags of free compost made from your food scraps: nyc.gov/GetCompost

People think that we think we invented the idea of trash bins.

Heads up, folks! The rats HATE that trash containers and composting have led to SIX MONTHS STRAIGHT of declining rodent sightings – and they’re leaving comments on our social media! 🙄
Want to get rid of a dresser and some trash? That's cool. Want to leave a dresser and some trash on the side of the road? THAT'S NOT COOL. Don't mess with New York. Don't trash our city.

Someone abandoned their trash-filled trailer on the street after a collision. 🙄 WHY!? New York's Strongest brought out the big equipment to remove the trailer and get the street CLEAN! Don’t trash NYC.
Remember, if you live in a building with 1-9 units, your trash MUST be in a bin. Use a bin, 55-gallons or less, with a secure lid. And yes, we’ve got plans for bigger buildings – a pilot is already underway. Business trash must be in a bin, too. Info: nyc.gov/UseBins
