Traditionally Muslim women in the Ottoman Empire, wore full chador over their clothes, that is not always practical to wear today But we can maintain tradition with some updates by learning from our Rum neighbours who wore a veil much closer to what many Muslim women wear today

Our ancestors: poor, one bad harvest away from starvation, often illiterate Yet they dressed in natural, culturally relevant, well fitting clothing Us today: Richer than ever before, never more secure or more educated So what’s our excuse for wearing ill fitting plastic⁉️
