Ex-ordinary. How can I lose when I came here with nothing?
An Anthology of my Threads: 1.
There’s a particular story in the Bible that I can’t get off my head. I pondered on it first in 2018 and each time I think about it, the message appears more profound than it appeared previously. Just follow my analogy:
I know many people who are zealots. They pick one ideology and filter the world through it forever. But I also know people who wake up deciding each day to believe or disbelieve their own beliefs. For what is right today, may be wrong tomorrow. And I know which I prefer.
Every stranger is a chance to tell your story again. To articulate a better, if honest, version of yourself. When the people close to you grow bored of your edges, a stranger arrives with fresh eyes and suddenly, you remember the parts of you that were beautiful all along.
No amount is enough.
How much is enough for you to never work or do anything that requires brain work again?
Imagine what the world would look like if no one was allowed to know anything about religion until they were at least 18. I’m 100% sure that not only would my country people be predominantly atheists, they would be the most vocal and close-minded atheists you could imagine.
Nice read. Thanks very much @idaliaafrica!

Without a Silver Spoon — Thriving Through the Ugly Limitations of LAPO
I will never prematurely discredit anyone’s story just cos they’re more privileged than me. I have been relatively blessed and have had life better than many but I have also had to fight awfully scary demons. Demons I will trade with those of the less unfortunate.
Don’t fucking fumble it. Maximise the probability of success by any means necessary.
You were never taught to see; you were taught what to ignore. Isn’t that funny? Your eyes take in everything. But your brain discards the majority as irrelevant. You don’t learn to observe, you learn to filter. Perception in a sense isn’t about clarity but about useful blindness.
I’d like to point one thing out in this conversation: don’t let poverty or a sense of lack make you arrogant and close-minded. It sounds counterintuitive but it’s common, and only makes things even worse. I see this play out a lot and I’ll explain what I mean. I’ve worked with…
It is why I prefer using the word "privileged." It gives more context and allows for nuance. The secret of men are in their story.
Someone called me a nepo kid yesterday. That was my cue to leave the conversation. The term “privilege” suffers a definitional problem. It’s relational and so we’re technically all disadvantaged and privileged relative to others and depending on our desires.

We are so poor as a country that people call middle class upbringing Nepotism babies lol 😂 Poverty do this one o
We love rollercoaster for the thrill of being terrified without consequences.
I say this all the time. People assume I'm impressed by outward success, but nothing scares me more than poverty of the mind. Especially in a romantic partner.

“Rich people aren’t unteachable. Poor people aren’t inherently virtuous. And no one is exempt from longing, fear, ego, hope. What matters is not whether a story maps perfectly onto your life. What matters is whether you can listen deeply enough to extract something useful.” 🔥

On this nepo baby conversation, I no really send. I’m not blind to my privilege. I’m not the most privileged person, and I’m not the least privileged person. I’m not going to explain away my privilege or apologize for it. All I can do is be the best of whatever I am.
