I have been asked an interesting question. Why does London’s Moorgate tube station have a mix of “traditional” bar-and-Circle roundels... and weird diamonds? Well... (1/6)

Also: a behind-scenes shot of #AwdryEx5: a selfie of Veronica Chambers (Rev Awdry's daughter) and I giggling before we ran up platform together yelling, as the Talking Train "left without us". Cheers to all the crew who agreed to our Refreshment Lady re-enacting. VC is a star!🥰
I have a new video folks! This is the gravity train trip during the @festrail Platinum Jubilee weekend. Going all the way to Blaenau and back in an empty slate waggon was just epic! (Thanks to @MrTimDunn for some of the clips!) FR70 - Gravity Train youtu.be/bMm0b5ZeeM8
When doing some chair-making research we stumbled into this incredible advert for a vertical modular sofa designed by Verner Panton in the 1960s. Does anyone know if these were actually made? We're looking to refurb the office and think these will really improve the feng shui.

Clunk-clunk-clunking still on Stansted Mountfitchet station is its 1980s British Rail Network Southeast clock. Some thirty-odd years later, its brand red casing has long been overpainted blue and is now in @greateranglia care: but a small Network Southeast sticker survives😍

Thank you to all who watched or enabled the most ambitious and well-delivered outside broadcast that I’ve ever been on. Hundreds of people featured, tens of thousands watched, and the most extraordinary programming went out on YouTube: all from @TalyllynRailway, all with love.❤️
More to come later, but I need to shout out to the #AwdryEx5 Livestream team. The most complex and intensive series of broadcasts in the HISTORY of heritage railways and they absolutely nailed it. Very proud of all of them
Another model from chapter 4 of my book Model Britain: Thorp's 1938 model of Prestatyn Holiday Camp. Designed by William Hamlyn, this huge holiday camp was a joint venture between the LMS railway and Thomas Cook.
More people need to know about this… the incredible dining cars of @transport_wales. We are cruising along at 90mph – past the peaked hills of the Welsh Borders with an ace three course steak lunch for under £30 and staff who smile & chat. This isn’t a brag: I upgraded my cheap…

There is a free @railway200 exhibition train at Margate today. Walk ins are welcome. Visit the train, our travel safe centre and community marquee. We had over 500 visitors yesterday. A special thanks to all partners and volunteers❤️👇
Some “Thomas” events’ faces on trains are pretty good. But this last weekend the @TalyllynRailway Skarloey Railway faces sometimes, just briefly, appear most surprisingly real
