This is correct. And it’s appalling. Every American deserves to know what our government is doing in Gaza. The answer requires staring into a very dark part of ourselves that we’d rather wish away. But we need the courage to stare this reality in the face—and to reject it.

Israel says it has bigger jobs to do than look after foreign journalists in Gaza. I'm not asking them to look after me. I'm just asking them to let me in. I'll look after myself as I do in every war zone I visit. We have freer access to Sudan, Congo & Yemen than we have to Gaza.

I've warned every single Holocaust education org for years at this point. But the issue is they are being led by elderly people who have no way to communicate or bring awareness to the youth and instead orgs like the ADL view people like me as competition or the enemy.

One can only hope that Israel will be forced into recognizing that there are two peoples on the land, and the time for an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel is the option at hand. Good for France for taking this important step.

The end of an era. Turkey was a haven for freelancers. There’s no life I miss more than that one, in Istanbul. But getting a residence permit to live there has become virtually impossible in the past couple of years. Marriage or full time local employment are about the only ways.

What I tell my family in NYC at least once a visit: “I can think of many places I’d go to get away from y’all. Istanbul, Ankara… But no matter what happens, Eric Adams isn’t going anywhere.”
