DESE and #MoSBE also honored former Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kari Monsees for his service to the Department. His institutional knowledge has been invaluable to DESE’s success and has led to historic investments in education. Thank you for your service, Dr. Monsees!

Last night, the #MoSBE celebrated former State Board members Charlie Shields, Kim Bailey, and Carol Hallquist. They oversaw the creation of the Office of Childhood, teacher recruitment and retention efforts, and updated our strategic plan. We are thankful for their leadership!

Senate Bill 68 will help ensure a safe school environment while also supporting teachers by reducing distractions in the classroom.

During the State Board of Education’s retreat, I laid out my goals for the upcoming year. This includes better supporting districts with low academic performance, building a dedicated team to focus on data analytics, and strengthening communication with stakeholders.

.@GovParsonMO’s State of the State address: continued funding to support: 1) the grant program that ensures Missouri teachers make at least $40,000 a year, and 2) the Career Ladder Program (additional pay for additional duties)

Our @parkwayspark students hosted @GovParsonMO and the @MoCommissioner of @MOEducation! The Spark! students showed Gov. Parson and Dr. Vandeven the innovative ways they're preparing for the workforce.
