Our borders are in trouble and we are listening…
Record deportations, counter terror powers on the way, returns to France and now sanctions on criminal gangs. Lots being done ✔️ No single policy will achieve secure borders - we will see an impact.
I said we’d put people smuggling gangs out of business — I meant it. From tomorrow, we’ll have new powers to freeze their assets, shut them off from the UK financial system, and ban them from travelling to Britain. Secure borders are a foundation of our Plan for Change.
This is my message to people smugglers: there is nowhere to hide. We’re coming for your profits. We’re going to freeze your assets. And we will do everything in our power to put you out of business.
Work on the ECHR is important. If we can’t deport a foreign paedophile, something needs to change!
