So excited that this will be out in the world tomorrow! And grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.

A gripping beginning to "After the Spike" by Dean Spears & @MikeGeruso: 146 million children were born in 2012, more than in any year before, since, or likely ever in the future. Highly recommended, my Goodreads review in the next post.
Now pushing top 25 on the USAToday bestseller list! Congrats to Dean and @MikeGeruso usatoday.com/booklist/bookl…
Pub day for this fantastic @UTAustin book! It presents tons of data and arguments in a readable, engaging way. I was talking about the facts and ideas to everyone I know, and still think about them a lot. I *really* recommend you check it out!
Excited to see that After the Spike is a USA Today bestseller (#1 non-self-help nonfiction, in fact)! Huge congrats to Dean Spears and @MikeGeruso
After the Spike is a vital corrective to all those still suck in the 1970s “population bomb” mindset of thinking that we have “too many people on the planet already”, and should welcome having fewer people in future.
In a new article, I review After the Spike, which comes out today. Authors Spears and Geruso show us the drawbacks of a depopulating world. In everything from the environment to living standards and progress itself, a shrinking world would be far from a utopia that some imagine.

From "After the Spike": "The year 2012 may well turn out to be the year in which the most humans were ever born—ever as in ever for as long as humanity exists." Going to live-tweet interesting bits.
Not changed my mind but became aware. A few years ago, I attended a session by Dean Spears, @MikeGeruso, Kevin Kuruc, and Sangita Vyas that made me aware of how big and difficult a problem global population decline could be.
On what issue have you changed your mind 180 degrees?
AFTER THE SPIKE is available today! Discover Dean Spears and @MikeGeruso's lively and compelling case for stabilizing the population—without sacrificing our dreams or societal progress. reason.com/2025/07/08/the…
A population explosion isn't the issue confronting the world. Fewer people will not necessarily benefit the planet. We need to worry about an unchecked population decline. The world needs a stabilisation of the population. @SrinivasGoli1 writes @MikeGeruso theindiaforum.in/book-reviews/w…
Happy publication day to Dean Spears and Michael Geruso! After the Spike makes a compelling case for policies that can protect the human population while respecting human rights. Highly recommended for anyone who cares about our future.
