Micheál Martin
@MichealMartinTD
Taoiseach and Uachtarán Fhianna Fáil. TD for Cork South Central.
No one believes that Gaza is anything other than a human catastrophe. It is a terrible stain on the world and on Europe that this war has not stopped.
The situation in Gaza is horrific. The suffering of civilians and the death of innocent children is intolerable. I echo the call by Foreign Ministers of 28 countries for all hostages to be released, and for a surge in humanitarian aid. This war must end and it must end now.
Government has today published the updated National Development Plan, with unprecedented levels of investment, to secure Ireland's future, unlock housing, upgrade water and energy infrastructure, deliver more roads, and provide better public transport gov.ie/en/department-…
This NDP Review is a landmark moment for Ireland’s future. With a record €275.4 billion in public capital investment, we will deliver the infrastructure that will help us meet the economic and social needs of the Irish people for generations to come
The National Development Plan being published by Government today is one of the biggest ever investments in transforming fundamental infrastructure in this country.
Congratulations Tipperary on a very impressive All-Ireland final win. Cork can hold their heads high after a thrilling season that gave so much to so many.
Fair play to @MichealMartinTD Never lost it! Best of luck to @KinsaleGaa with the new development #corkgaa
@MichealMartinTD demonstrating that @NemoRangersGAA men can play hurling to at the official turning of the sod at @KinsaleGaa new ground @OfficialCorkGAA #corkgaa
It has been a wonderful year of hurling so far and a joy to witness the extraordinary Cork crowds who have attended every game. I have no doubt that Sunday will enable many more young people to dream that someday they will be in Croke Park in an All Ireland final.
Constructive discussion with British PM @Keir_Starmer today on a framework for dealing with legacy. We also spoke on EU-UK relations and preparations for the next UK-Ireland summit.
The bombing and slaughter of innocent civilians in Gaza must stop. We need an immediate ceasefire and an end to this war.
I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and injury caused by the military attack on the Holy Family Catholic Church in #Gaza. I assure the parish community of my spiritual closeness. I commend the souls of the deceased to the loving mercy of Almighty God, and pray for…
Met with @amnesty Sec Gen @AgnesCallamard today. Reiterated Ireland’s commitment to human rights across the world and discussed the catastrophe in Gaza, and the need for an immediate resumption of humanitarian aid.

Ireland is one of UNHCR’s strongest partners — I was happy to thank #Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD for the Irish government’s unflinching support across all key areas of our work, and for being a vocal champion of the @UN, of multilateralism and of international cooperation.
The opposition want universal benefits for the high rollers. This Government will prioritise those most in need in the forthcoming budget.
Greatly appreciated the opportunity to meet with @FilippoGrandi and discuss the vital work being carried out by the UNHCR. In these turbulent times, I was pleased to reassure him on Ireland’s continued strong support and financial assistance for the UNHCR. @Refugees

Trade between Ireland and Canada has grown to €4.1 billion - how could you be against that? We should embrace a Canadian-EU trade agreement - yet the opposition are against it.
Absolute nonsense to blame the European Union for tariffs imposed by the US. We don't want tariffs. Europe doesn't want tariffs.
The war in Gaza must stop. The focus should be on alleviating the humanitarian hardship that the people of Gaza and the West Bank are experiencing and the release of all hostages.
Lengthy and comprehensive cabinet agenda today, including: - National Development Plan - Latest on tariff negotiations - Subsea Cables memo
Delighted to welcome John, Enda and Roger of Team Power of 1 to Government Buildings - the inspirational team who rowed 5,000km across the Atlantic and raised €575,841 for Heart Children Ireland and Children's Health Foundation in memory of John's beloved daughter, Saoirse.

Really enjoyed today’s semi-final at Croke Park. A very impressive victory by Donegal over a gallant Meath team.
