Some personal updates: Defended my PhD in Neuroscience @OttawaCmm, I had a blast working on serotonergic circuitry, synapses, and population coding with @JCBeique and @NeuroNaud. Arrived in Oxford, UK last month to start a postdoc with @ArminLak! Excited for next steps!
Interested in claustrum, amygdala, pfc, circuit mapping or just the brain? Check out my poster (499) this afternoon at #FENS2024.
#FENS2024 Poster *499* this Friday afternoon: @ivanalexlazarte dives into inhibition in claustrum with BLA & PFC thrown in for fun. It's all🐚. "Inhibition of prefrontal-projecting claustrum neurons by basolateral amygdala" @worldwideneuro world-wide.org/fens-24/inhibi…
cool survey going around by a team of fellow neuroscientists on research and publishing dynamics in neuroscience, if you’ve just published a paper in neuroscience, consider responding to the survey link here forms.office.com/e/ni98PRtsRB, it only takes 10min to fill in!
Come check out our poster on neuropixels, perception and cortical/subcortical routing (F17) at @SfNtweets led by the supremely talented @NeuroRussell with @ArminLak @paqio

If you are at @SfNtweets, check out my poster tomorrow AM on my PhD work so far with the brilliant @MichaelBLynn_ and @ArminLak. Come see how we combine optogenetics, multi-NP probe insertions and complex behavior to investigate how perceptual signals propagate through the brain.
Three days of brainstorming, useful discussions, team building & fun with amazing lab members. In vivo daily experiments and childcare duties made it hard to organise this before. The very first of very many LakLab retreats to come. The team has amazing cooks (except for me 😂)
At #FENS2024? Check poster 37 on Saturday to see how genetics, antidepressants and aversive experience shape developmental serotonin dynamics with life-long consequences for GABAergic neurons and cortical encoding!! With @Interneuron_Dev, @paqio, sharp lab and @Serotonin_h2020 🧠
What regulates serotonin release? Michael mapped out the salient network mechanisms and release dynamics:
Excited to share our updated preprint characterizing a novel, slow recurrent circuit motif in raphe! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
If you are attending @FENSorg today, check out my poster on my PhD work so far with the brilliant @MichaelBLynn_ and @ArminLak. Come see how we combine optogenetics, multi-NP probe insertions and complex behavior to investigate how perceptual signals propagate through the brain.
Heading to #FENS2024, check out our lab posters; all data shown 1st time; all on cortex -> striatum <- DA/Ach
Check out our FENS poster on perceptual signals in subcortical networks, led by fantastic DPhil student @NeuroRussell!
(PS03-27AM-115) @NeuroRussell @MichaelBLynn_ on cortico-cortical vs cortico-striatal signal propagation during decision making.
