Kenny McBride
@McBrideVersus
Former civil servant, appealing judgement in my employment tribunal against the Scottish Government. Rule 3(10) Hearing on 22/7/25 at Edinburgh Appeal Tribunal.
Massive thanks to @RynnBrooke, @LucyHunterB and @WingsScotland for their support throughout the Tribunal process. Thanks also to the fantastic @crit_gen, @suzxu, @LucPowls and Jean from Aberdeen (fa I kent afore she wis famous) for turning up on Monday to support me in person. 1/
Following the Supreme Court ruling, my employer’s advice to anyone who objects to using single sex facilities that aren’t really single sex, is to use mixed sex facilities. Am I reading this correctly? @SexMattersOrg
Courts in this country used to be fun. What happened to us huh.
IT'S HIS RIGHT
I've read your account of the Sandy Peggie case and I've seen you repeatedly call male criminals "she". I simply no longer believe anything you have to say about anything else.

"At every turn, the machinery bent to accommodate a single perspective. Internal procedures became tools of enforcement, not investigation."
Day 6 | PM Session | Peggie v NHS Fife & Dr Upton 🧨Weaponising Narrative: From Fabricated Logs to Hate Reports It began with an email. On 29 December 2023, just hours after a fraught exchange in the women’s changing room, Dr. Kate Searle sent a message to every consultant in…
I see the fragrant 'Beth' is trending Has anybody made the Dr Upto-no-good pun yet? I'm probably late to the party as usual
This is the question that never gets asked in HR depts. I complained repeatedly about actual physical pain due to the stress of dealing with gender lunacy at work. Nothing happened. Some TRAs complained about a polite email I sent and the whole Civil Service went to red alert.
Who was the person responsible for SP’s well-being?
This reminds me of when smoking rates were declining in rich countries and the tobacco industry started pushing smoking harder in poorer countries instead. thethaiger.com/news/national/…
Argh. I'm out of further words for this stuff.
Just another day of lunacy in the Scottish courts. Dr Kate Searle, a consultant in emergency medicine, says she knows she's female because it says so on her birth certificate, but she personally isn't an expert on recognising a baby's sex. 1/3
You might have missed this news on Tuesday, with it being at the same time as Sandie Peggie's tribunal. Kenny lost his initial employment tribunal against @scotgov and was applying for leave to appeal. Which was granted. The hearing itself is still to be scheduled.
So, I won. A full appeal hearing will be scheduled...at some point. Thanks as always to @LucyHunterB, @RynnBrooke, @WingsScotland, and @JoeBryce15 for all their help, and also to my amazing fiancé.
Love JK Rowling ❤️ And I have so much admiration for the women and men in this fight. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s spoken up, gone to a LWS, stickered, engaged with politicians, challenged their employers, and fought against this damning ideology. So grateful to everyone…
The Sandie Peggie employment tribunal is currently exposing, as perhaps no court case to date has, the issue of class as it relates to the top-down imposition of gender identity ideology in the workplace. 'Diversity officer' Isla Bumba has now admitted in court that she didn't…
I'm a doctor who thinks a man is a woman, that babies are assigned sex at birth (although I'm not an expert); I can't search email for the word "Beth" and nor can my doctor pals, and I don't know what "disclosure" is. But I'm trustworthy.
The message this is giving out is that any female who (because of religion, belief, experience of sexual harassment, period flooding etc) who is particularly disadvantaged by the absence of genuinely single sex toilets should not come to our museum @MuseumoftheHome
'We have women’s, men’s and gender-neutral toilets available at the Museum, which are not monitored based on protected characteristics.' Statement of Support for the Transgender Community, London's Museum of the Home. Or 'we turn a blind eye to men in the ladies loo.'
I think this is a terrific idea and I have emailed Justin to this effect. I'd encourage any philosophers who follow me to do the same.
Any philosophers who follow me or @johnmaier_: we would love it if you could ask Justin Weinberg (his email is available on the Daily Nous “About” page) to open a discussion thread on our essay. Among other things, we are curious to see how many requests he is prepared to ignore.
I think any politician who comments here needs to be asked if they can describe what Sandie Peggie's objection to Upton was. Being able to describe that accurately and plainly is the basic requirement to commenting on the case with credibility.
Peggie's objection to Upton was his sex, not that he was transgender. Every time the formula below is used, it undermines the most basic aspect of her case, and contributes to social shaming round language which left Sandie Peggie so vulnerable to what happened to her.
One of the many conundrums in this case... Like why did Upton know he was female but Bumba and Searle didn't know if they were female...
Guessing Pitlochry Festival Theatre isn't somewhere any feminist woman will be welcome at for the foreseeable, eh? This is unhinged. No, there are no superheroes here, Cummings. Other than the women who, with tenacity and resilience, resist this psychological abuse and coercion.
