🧵21 things I wish someone would’ve told me as a new Assistant Professor: 1. It’ll take forever to get started and your lab setup. Take however long you’re hoping and double it. Maybe triple it. 2. Seek out new mentors and collaborators. They don’t need to be in your department.

Great job by my mentee, Kevan Knowles, on a successful M.S. thesis defense today. Kevan conducted a 6 wk RCT to examine the impact of training volume on multiple measures of muscle quality among older adults. Manuscript will be submitted shortly!
