Very pleased we have a release date and website for "The Political Theory of Liberal Socialism" for @routledgebooks. Coming out November 22nd! routledge.com/The-Political-…

“Who picks the autocrat?” “Quite frankly, the people.“ I think this really gets at the fundamental, intentional incoherence of fascist politics. If “the people” can’t be trusted with democracy, why would you trust them to vote for the “right” autocrat? What are we doing here?
“We may have to rename this show because you’re a little bit more than a far-right Republican.” @mehdirhasan called out a self-proclaimed ‘fascist’ on the show ‘Surrounded’ where he debated 20 far-right Republicans.
I understand @RepMGP is a Christian (She invited people to attend the Bible study group of an anti-LGBT bigot) I hope she is prepared, on the day of judgment, to face her God & answer when He asks directly: "Why the fuck did you care more about car headlights than starving kids?"
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez has tweeted numerous times about car headlights being too bright but not once about Gaza. I have nothing but contempt for this kind of morally empty Democrat.

Ummm so let me get this straight: Republicans have ground Congress to a halt and are considering adjourning the entire House for 6 weeks to avoid releasing the info they have on Epstein? What is going on here?
NEWS - House Rules Committee isn’t returning AT ALL tonight and likely not AT ALL THIS week amid Epstein + other issues, per sources Scalise confirms to me it’s “not likely” Rules return - meaning House would leave without advancing immigration and several other bills
Undocumented immigrants do the backbreaking work that keeps this country going: picking our food, working in meatpacking plants, providing child care for our kids, supporting our grandparents in nursing homes. We need comprehensive immigration reform, not mass deportations.
What a wonderful surprise to wake up to—@jondavidchurch, who I was exchanging articles with about this stuff way back in 2019, explaining in a characteristically thoughtful piece that he’s come around to the democratic socialist side of the argument:
"Just ask any antitrust economist. Or any energy economist who knows a thing or two about Enron. Or anyone with a background in finance who remembers the disaster of subprime mortgage markets." @jondavidchurch on his long-standing debate with @BenBurgis

New pod: If Karoline Leavitt is now throwing the FBI under the bus on Jeffrey Epstein, says @gelliottmorris, it's because this scandal is terrible for Trump: It undercuts his "anti-elite" cred and alienates independents and MAGA-curious young men. Listen: newrepublic.com/article/198186…
Thanks!
