Ordinary South Africans have usually been on the right side of history. Fought the fascists with the liberal West. Fought the commies with the capitalist West. Opposed the ANC/GNU's cozy relationship with the dregs of the world.
With all our imperfections this great nation, South Africa, is on the right side of history.
In South Africa, what’s called “normal” is: 17 million on welfare 27,000+ murders a year Children raped daily Load shedding as policy Looting called “protest” Race laws enforced under the guise of “equity” Corruption so common it barely shocks anymore If you’re “well adjusted”…
Here’s a pretty good heuristic: political regimes that people flee *to* tend to be better than political regimes that people flee *from*. Cuba is actually existing socialism and it’s a disaster
The Cuban Revolution began on this day in 1956. The Revolution’s victory belonged not just to its leaders, but also to the many working people who fought for its success.
Responsible people don't need many laws. Irresponsible people won't follow them anyway.
Overregulation is bureaucrat-speak for two things "We don't trust ordinary people to solve problems" OR "We owe our campaign donors some profitable government contracts and barriers that eliminate their competition." Either way, it’s the regular entrepreneurs who pay the…
Mashaba openly admitting that an ASA government will never, under his leadership, act against land invasions. (Until his suburb is surrounded by a shantytown, I'm sure.) "Capitalist Crusader" for who? 🚮
I would ask you to advise Helen to remove squatter camps in Cape Town before worrying about Joburg. Is she the one to deal with poor people? That obviously tells South Africans about the kind of person she is. Deal decisively with poor black people. Not under my watch.
Don't worry though, we are assured that it's better to keep Johannesburg's parks under the management of these people than to privatise them.
My colleague cycled Cuba earlier in the year. No readily available pain medication (pharmacy shelves are empty). No eggs (loads of booze though!). No plastic or paper containers for goods bought in stores (you have to carry it in your hands). Socialism pays evil dividends.
"I began the revolution with 82 men. If I had to do it again, I would do it with 10 or 15 and absolute faith. It does not matter how small you are if you have faith and a plan of action."- Fidel Castro
There should be a distinction between "order enforcement" (what we think of as "police") and "law enforcement." By making the police complicit in imposing the often bad state policy of the day, we harm the necessary social respect that the police should carry. The armed,…
The argument for raising the minimum wage is often framed as compassion for workers, but in reality, it is a policy that crushes small businesses, protects corporate giants, and locks the most vulnerable out of the workforce. Large corporations can absorb the costs. They have…
The Cape Town DA is acting really shamefully. Their conduct isn't the worst part. The worst part is the lack of accountability being imposed from higher up.
The DA is waging class warfare: if they can’t hike rates on the wealthy and middle class, they’ll squeeze the poor instead. Meanwhile, illegal land invasions explode - and law-abiding residents foot the bill. This isn’t good governance. It’s suicidal empathy.
Private property suburban sprawl with a twist! If shedding colonialism means (and it does!) embracing individualist-capitalism like this, I'm all for it! Onwards!
The day Africans start building and living like this is the day we truly have broken the chains of colonialism!
Classical liberalism is not the same as 'progressive liberalism'. In a nutshell, the former is about: -limited government, -the rule of law, -free speech, -a strong emphasis on a large amount of economic liberties, -scepticism towards those who want to impose an…
I'm investigating the difference between progressive liberalism and classical liberalism. So to summarise briefly; classical liberalism is about negative rights and equality of opportunity and progressive liberalism incorporates aspects of positive rights and equality of outcome?
Want a long and healthy life? Stay as far away from russia and communism as possible.
📈 #Latvia, #Lithuania & #Estonia as part of the #USSR: • Dozens of factories built • High wages • Population growth 📉 After 1991: • Population shrunk by 17–33% • Economies marginalized in EU • Industrial decline t.me/MFARussia/25798
Out of 1 million applicants there will be at least 5,500 absolute gems of merit. The SAPS will in all probably choose the 5,500 worst of the bunch.
"More than one million South African youths have applied to join the Police Service. It is reported that only 5,500 posts are available. Of the more than 1,049,998 applications received by the midnight deadline on Friday night, 595,049 were female applicants and 454,949 were…
The ANC abolished criminal defamation a year ago. As far as I can see, it has not repealed section 16 of the Constitution. The prosecutor in this case should be arrested and charged with malicious prosecution.
