The Cardinals are shopping Ryan Helsley, Phil Maton and Steven Matz, per @katiejwoo
Clubhouse chemistry shouldn't concern people at the Trade Deadline. Part of having a great clubhouse, which the #BlueJays absolutely do, means that you can shake it up or bring in an asshole... and it's still fine. They're adults, and all of the adults want to win a World Series
Emmanuel Clase lowering his trade value, while also making sure the Guardians sell so he can be a Blue Jay. You love to see it.
Jays should go after Taylor Ward. 1. Lukes - RF 2. Springer - DH 3. Guerrero Jr - 1B 4. Bichette - SS 5. Barger - 3B 6. Ward - LF 7. Varsho - CF 8. Kirk - C 9. Gimenez - 2B 1. Heineman - C 2. Clement - U 3. Schneider - LF 4. Straw - CF Good luck to opposing pitchers.
Andrés Giménez should be in rehab games a week from now “at the very latest”, John Schneider says. #BlueJays
They’re gonna have to earn it against the best pitcher in ball today, but you find a way to scratch out a win… you’re 6.5 games up on the East, with Varsho, and who knows what else coming by the end of next Thursday.
Daulton Varsho has homered in three straight games on rehab assignment 👀
I feel bad for Ryan McMahon. He’s obviously an upgrade defensively that they need, but he’s gonna strikeout a fuck ton, and idk how Yankee fans will handle it.
Mariners lost Astros lost Yankees lost Red Sox lost Rays lost Tigers lost Jays won What a day.
Davis Schneider has started 3 games since the break. The starters he faced were Robbie Ray, Carlos Rodon, & Max Fried. Tommorow, he gets to face Tarik Skubal.
It is July 25, and the best record in Major League Baseball belongs to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Joey Loperfido figuring it out would be pretty interesting. He’s hit both LHP & RHP since coming back, has cut his whiff% down by 12%, and seems to be squaring it up a lot more.
What are the Jays #’s against starters the 3rd time through over the last 2ish months?
They’ve faced Logan Webb, Robbie Ray, Max Fried, Carlos Rodon, Cam Schlittler, and Reese Olson in this timespan. Genuinely insane.
Blue Jays have struck out just 31 times over their last 7 games. The only team in MLB this season to strike out fewer times in a 7-game span is.... the Blue Jays, from May 29 to June 5 (30 times).
An underrated addition for the Jays if they add a RH bat is Alex Call. He’s a RH Nathan Lukes. Slashing .333/.378/.470 (133 wRC+) against LHP, doesn’t strike out, elite chase rates, 6 career OAA at CF, has sneaky speed. Ideally want a power bat, but he would fit right in.
