It feels like October at Rogers Centre this week, and no one knows October like Max Scherzer. Story on his return to a “full” workload and his importance to the #BlueJays’ postseason run: mlb.com/bluejays/news/…
#BlueJays lose, 5-4. One hell of a ball game. This snaps their club record 11-game home winning streak. They’re 59-42 with the finale on tap tomorrow night.
Really strong at-bat from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to open the bottom of the 9th for the #BlueJays There are times to look for the single, and that's the type of pitch to do it on. Table's set here with the biggest crowd of the season in the house.
Home run, Ben Rice, and the #BlueJays are down 5-4 in the top of the ninth. All of the Yankees' runs have come via homers tonight. They'll need a big bottom half with Vladdy, Bichette and Barger due up.
The #BlueJays announce that a Loonie Dog record has been set tonight. The ticker is at 77,902 hot dogs... allegedly. #GlizzyGate
The #BlueJays need more from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and I don't understand why that's only being whispered instead of said out loud. If any player can turn it on in an instant, it's Vladdy. He can take this team from a postseason contender to a World Series contender by himself.
This is where the #BlueJays need something from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. If his season-long numbers aren't going to be there, he needs to be timely.
Whew. Max Scherzer got Aaron Judge, but Jazz Chisholm Jr. got him right back. Big, three-run shot from Chisholm and the #BlueJays are playing from behind early, down 3-0.
I said this on @OverDrive1050 yesterday, but John Schneider is going to get some serious attention for AL Manager of the Year… and he absolutely deserves to. Managers of overachieving teams tend to poll well and this whole staff has been repeatedly praised by its players.
The more the #BlueJays win, the more you have to see me in a suit. From @SportsCentre with @jenniferhedger last night, my thoughts on Kevin Gausman, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the bullpen: tsn.ca/mlb/video/gaus…
Game 100 just teased Game 1. Kevin Gausman is the guy again: Story: mlb.com/bluejays/news/…
Bo Bichette says he feels this is the best the #BlueJays fan base has been in his time in the big leagues. “This is what I remember watching on TV when I was 17 years old at home, with Bautista and Donaldson.”
John Schneider called the support of #BlueJays fans “phenomenal” through their club record 11-game winning streak: “The city and the fans deserve that. We love the support. You look up at 6:45 and the place is full. The guys, they feel that. Everyone feels that.”
#BlueJays win, 4-1. They’re 59-41, have won a franchise-record 11 straight home games and sit 4.0 games up on the Yankees for first place in the AL East. They might be the best story in baseball right now.
This is the best I've seen Kevin Gausman pitch in a long time. There's a little F-you to it, too. It's really, really working. #BlueJays
The Yankees are really yakkin’ it around out there. Another error, another run for the #BlueJays.
I can’t find a camera angle of it, but it's difficult to explain how aggressive Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s slide into home was. He launched himself into the air a mile before the plate. He slid as if home plate was a threat to those he loves.
There it is, a double from Bo Bichette to put the #BlueJays back in front, 2-1. Big moment from Bichette in that spot.
That's the good shit from Kevin Gausman against Aaron Judge (again). With two strikes, Gausman threw Judge his four hardest fastballs of the night all in a row... and Judge fouled all four off. Then the splitter finally gets the pop out. #BlueJays
