Dear Elected and Public Health Officials, I am an ON parent who is advocating for my child’s long term health and life. You are responsible for public health policies that keep us safe.
At the dental surgery for a follow up. Overheard from a nurse in the hallway: Do I HAVE to wear one? (a mask) Surgeon: Yes. Nurse shows up in N95.
Some think that they've already had it a couple of times, so what's the point in avoiding it again.
Why? Some tell themselves it won't happen to them - either yet or again.
I gave a brief flippant answer to this the other day (it's been a stressful week) but actually I meet a number of people who say 'I understand why you're masking' because they've had damage from covid or someone they know has. They understand covid harms. But take no action. 🧵
I'm genuinely curious whether you've met anyone who 1) does agree that Covid is not harmless, and 2) does not do anything to protect themselves. What are these people like?
Dear health care and other professionals who endlessly cite "the rule says" even when it is clear the rule is actively harming , discriminatory, and there are alt ways to achieve what it's designed to... if you don't want to be replaced by robots stop behaving like one.
Also, for the non Canadians seeing this - when abled Canadians got $2k pandemic pay, disabled Canadians - many of whom live below the poverty line - got NADA. Zilch. Zippo. And were abandoned by society, especially when Covid mitigations were ended even in hospitals. This is a…
Abled people got $2000 a MONTH at the start of the (ongoing) Covid pandemic. Why are disabled people - who have vastly higher costs of living - only getting a tenth of that? Bragging about “no clawbacks” is an absolute embarrassment, when disabled people are literally dying from…
Another 3 off today. Meanwhile 3 others back in baggy blues all looking like death and 1 complaining of cognitive difficulties. Just another day in denial.
4 staff off today. A few at lunchtime who’ve been off in the past month complaining about the ‘lingering cough’. I haven’t been off with any ILI for the past 5 years. Of course I’ll go back in donning a mask and they .. won’t
Very tired of refusal to implement #airborne protections, and thus of the ongoing #pandemic we could have ended years ago and this is why I #persist #YallMasking #MaskUp #WearAMask #N95 #CovidIsAirborne
“No one tells millionaires to be grateful for tax breaks. No one asks oil companies to be thankful for subsidies. But people with disabilities? They’re told to smile while the social safety net is exchanged for a trampoline with a hole in it.” People with disabilities are often…
Must be having some effect at work.. advised that we have a work safe person attending our team meeting next week . Examples given for raising issues within their remit .. AIR QUALITY!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
How many more deaths do you need before you stop accusing people of faking their illnesses? “I was accused of fabricating Maeve’s symptoms right up to the point in which she died.”
Clip Sarah Boothby on todays BBC Breakfast segment on the UK government's new #MECFS Delivery Plan “I was accused of fabricating Maeve’s symptoms right up to the point in which she died. Two days before she died, we were subject to safeguarding investigations.”
Long COVID isn’t a thing of the past. People are still getting sick. Still losing their health, their jobs, their futures. It’s not “a bit of tiredness.” It’s organ damage, vascular damage and cognitive decline. This isn’t historical; it’s the present. And it's being ignored.
Someone just reached out to me on LinkedIn to talk about Long COVID. They developed it in January of this year.

Why don't experts acknowledge that everyone should wear a mask to protect themselves from infection (not just 'high risk groups') and that even 'mild' cases of C19 can cause long-term health problems? theconversation.com/covid-flu-rsv-…
We drink two litres of water and breathe in 11,000 litres of air every day. We wouldn’t dream of drinking dirty water, so why are we so happy breathing in dirty air? Have a look at how dirty the air is that we breathe, here... cleanairforkids.co.uk/inspiration/ju…
We can't see the air we breathe in. And we can't see the myriad pollutants and pathogens it carries with it. And so we merrily breathe them in. But if we could see them, would you still be happy breathing them in? Have a look at the two air filters in the tweet below...
