The new @NIH limit of 6 proposals a year is just another way of limiting funding. Last year that I had to submit 5 in one cycle (4 to NIH). I didn't do it for shits and giggles, it's because I HAD to. And no, I never used AI... just blood, sweat and tears (mostly tears).
