“It’s important for us to understand the different teachings on women’s rights, GBV, FGM, and child marriage from the perspectives of various religions. That’s why forums like this matter, they help us find common ground for change.” Sheikh Bashir @OxfamKE @KenyaAsal

We are having a critical conversation with religious leaders and local influencers on the role of faith in protecting women and girls. We're working with faith based organizations to challenge and end harmful cultural practices in our communities. @OxfamKE @KenyaAsal

In today’s workshop, chiefs raised concerns over the reliability of age assessment tests. In one defilement case, a suspect believed to be around 30 years old was declared 15–17, undermining justice. There’s a need to review the age verification processes. @OxfamKE @KenyaAsal

Starting off this morning with a collaborative workshop bringing together key actors in the referral pathway. We're sharing updates, best practices, and strengthening coordination to ensure survivors of GBV, FGM and child marriage receive timely support. @OxfamKE @KenyaAsal

Dr @MwendaKarani1 highlights the deep psychosocial effects of SGBV ranging from fear, anxiety, depression, and PTSD to social stigma, isolation, and economic hardship. Survivors don’t just suffer in silence; they are pushed out of public life. @OxfamKE @KenyaAsal

We keep hearing in today’s training how stigma, culture, and self-blame stop survivors from speaking out. If we want to help, we must make it normal to talk about SGBV, create safe spaces, listen without judgment, and let survivors know they are not alone. @OxfamKE @KenyaAsal

We are in session with @MwendaKarani1 for a training on psychosocial support and mental health for SGBV survivors. First-line responders and referral pathway actors from across Marsabit Central are learning how to offer compassionate, survivor centered care. @KenyaAsal @OxfamKE
