FRAUD COMMITTEE: A thread about today's bombshell Fraud and Oversight Committee hearing featuring Attorney General Ellison responding to leaked audio of a December 2021 meeting with individuals involved with the Feeding Our Future fraud scandal. Full breakdown below. 🧵
New from @KSTP - Minnesota government fraud could exceed $1 BILLION This is why House Republicans prioritized commonsense fraud prevention measures and formed the @MN_Fraud_Cmte this year.

If they were doing site visits, a site visit would have uncovered that 22 are there. Or even an address check, right? All these different businesses are located at the same physical address with a different suite number. startribune.com/inside-the-st-…
🚨BREAKING NEWS Today, Chair @KRobbinsMN, Speaker @LisaDemuthMN, Chair @JeffBacker, and Chair Joe Schomacker sent a letter to the U.S. Dpt. of Health and Human Services requesting a federal audit of MN DHS due to rampant Medicaid fraud. Read the letter and release below👇
Democrats in Minnesota don't think fraud is a problem. In fact, they explicitly said so in the House. We have lost OVER A BILLION DOLLARS TO IT. Not one Democrat voted to implement an Inspector General in Minnesota.
Joe Thompson also said that when current investigations are prosecuted and finished, the scope of fraud in Minnesota government programs could exceed $1 billion. kstp.com/kstp-news/top-…
Fraud estimates under the Walz Administration is expected to exceed $1 billion. Acting US Attorney Joe Thompson agrees with Chair Robbins that we are that “tip of the iceberg” in uncovering fraud schemes in Minnesota.

I agree with @Senmarkjohnson - Senator Mitchell should resign.
The best time for Sen. Mitchell to resign was April 22, 2024. Next best time was every day after that. Last best time is today.
This week, yet another massive fraud scheme came to light. The work of the @MN_Fraud_Cmte is more important than ever. Read more: kstp.com/kstp-news/top-…

House Speaker @LisaDemuthMN releases statement on the announced release of ax murderer David Brom, who received three life sentences after murdering his parents and younger siblings in Rochester, MN. 👇
Thankful for the great work by @FBIMinneapolis and other law enforcement partners. Taxpayer dollars should go to the needy, not the greedy!
Federal agents raiding Housing Stabilization companies across the Twin Cities this morning. The companies have been the subject of @kare11 investigations including this report last night: kare11.com/article/news/i…
Would be really nice if we could promise Minnesotans an Inspector General is on the way to mitigate this constant fraud. All Democrats in the House voted against that idea. And thus:
BREAKING: Search warrants underway connected to “massive scheme to defraud Minnesota’s Housing and Stabilization Services.” More to come on @AlphaNewsMN
I reviewed these invoices. Walz paid hundreds of thousands to politically-connected DC lawyers so they could tell him what Minnesota & federal law is. If he can’t trust the AG’s office to advise him on that, he should tell Minnesota taxpayers and voters why not.
According to the documents we reviewed, 23 members of the K&L Gates firm in Washington, ranging from partners and associates to a librarian, charged from $350 to $700 per hour. kstp.com/kstp-news/top-…
Another fraud scandal at @MinnesotaDHS in the Housing Stabilization Services program. These Medicaid expansion programs appear to be the nexus of many egregious fraud schemes. Great reporting by @AJInvestigates at @kare11 kare11.com/article/news/i…

Rep. @KRobbinsMN highlights that 318,000 Minnesotans are enrolled in the Medicaid expansion program—receiving over $10K in benefits each, well above the national average. We must root out fraud and abuse and protect care for the elderly, disabled, and children.
Gov. Walz spent $430,000 of your money on D.C. lawyers to prep for a hearing about bills he signed himself. He didn’t need the help, and now hardworking Minnesotans are stuck with the tab. @JimNashMN
Rep. @WalterHudson raised concerns about whistleblower reports of retaliation within DHS for flagging fraud, and questioned the agency’s opposition to the bipartisan OIG bill. These are serious issues that deserve continued scrutiny.
@ImSchultz also did a quick recap on yesterday's committee hearing, highlighting how much more MN spends on Medicaid than other comparable states. Watch below👇
