Good for you! Teaching a small group of motivated students is certainly rewarding, and you're fortunate not to have to handle the basics with 300 students. However, that foundational work is essential for attracting those motivated students to your course in the first place.
Some profs. downplay course teaching: Over 5 weeks,we gave 10+lectures (30-60 min),worked 8-20+ hrs (incl. weekends) preparing, organized a student seminar with paper presentations,held an exam, & found interactions more rewarding than lecturing to 300 students #AcademicChatter
