Marie-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow with Daniel Kaiser @dkaiserlab at Justus Liebig University Gießen | studying visual perception, attention | using fMRI,M/EEG
Honored and thrilled to receive the GGN Early Career Award @jlugiessen 🏆 Huge thanks to my awesome supervisors Daniel @DKaiserlab & @MariusPeelen, all my collaborators, and the amazing colleagues from both labs — couldn’t have done it without you! 💗

Don’t miss out again! If you are interested in our studies presented at @VSSMtg , you can find our posters here: 👇 drive.google.com/drive/mobile/f…
How fast do we extract distance cues from scenes 🛤️🏞️🏜️ and integrate them with retinal size 🧸🐻 to infer real object size? Our new EEG study in Cortex has answers! w/@DKaiserlab @SuryaGayet @MariusPeelen Check it out: doi.org/10.1016/j.cort…
Glad to share our EEG study now is out in JNP. 🎉 We showed that alpha rhythms automatically interpolate occluded motion based on the surrounding contextual cues! 🚶♂️🏞️ @DKaiserlab @maxbardelang 👇journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.11…
Now out in @RSocPublishing Proceedings B! Check out @Gongting_Wang's EEG work on individual differences in scene perception: Scenes that are more typical for individual observers are represented in an enhanced yet more idiosyncratic way. Link: royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs…
Here's the official advertisement for a PhD position in our lab: uni-giessen.de/de/ueber-uns/k… Please see below for context. If you're interested in applying, feel free to get in touch beforehand - happy to informally answer and questions you may have. Feel free to forward, too!
Job alert! We are now looking for a PhD student starting Sept 2025, for a project on visual relations between people and objects, using behavior, EEG, fMRI, and ANNs. Bonus: The project involves a collaboration with the brilliant @ljuba_pi. Please forward or get in touch! 🧠🎓
Halfway to our goal—thank you! Sara’s surgery is set for Jan 22 in Germany. We’re hopeful & grateful for your support. Please continue sharing, it really helps: gofund.me/7df0f670
Now out in @TrendsNeuro: We discuss how the contents of visual perception, imagery, and prediction can be decoded from rhythmic brain activity and argue that such rhythmic representations offer new insights into neural information propagation. @RicoStecher sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Our review on the theoretical status of oscillations and field potentials is out! What are their causal effects, and what can electrophysiology signals reveal about how the brain works? w/ @dlevenstein @prokraustinator Bradley Voytek @_rdgao cell.com/trends/cogniti…
TODAY: For this next CHBH Seminar Series, we will welcome Prof Daniel Kaiser (@DKaiserlab)! 🗓️Mon 25th Nov 2-3pm 📍Biosciences NG08 or online (Zoom) For Zoom link: bham-ac-uk.zoom.us/meeting/regist… #CHBHevents
A bit late to my own party but super happy to see this out now in @ScienceAdvances 🥳 (science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…). We find that preparatory activity during context-guided search reflects a template for attentional guidance and can encode associated objects, not the target itself!
Excited to share our latest work! We found that preparatory neural activity (the “attentional template”) flexibly represents target-associated objects, guiding eye movements toward likely target locations. @MaelleLerebourg @DondersInst @ScienceAdvances science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
New preprint out 🎉 with @maxbardelang and @DKaiserlab : In this EEG study, we found alpha dynamics interpolated the occluded motion information in a context-dependent manner. 🏞️🚶🧠

New preprint led by @LuChunYeh, with @MariusPeelen & @SuryaGayet: Using EEG, we delineate how neural representations of real-world object size emerge from interactions of the object's retinal size and pictorial distance cues from the scene context. 🐻🧸🛤️biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Apply now for a 3-year postdoc position in the lab! Please retweet and share with potential candidates. If you're interested in #vision, #EEG, #fMRI, and working with a fun team at the @jlugiessen, feel free to get in touch before applying. Link: uni-giessen.de/de/ueber-uns/k…
We will soon advertise a 3-year postdoc position in the lab. We're looking for a person that's interested in understanding natural vision, has experience with EEG/fMRI and experience with state-of-the-art analysis methods. Please share and get in touch if you're interested! 🧠💜
Excited to present my poster on surround suppression in dynamic natural scenes at #ECVP2024! Stop by on Thursday at 9 a.m. to discuss the findings—see you there! @DKaiserlab
Preprint alert 🚨I am excited about our new paper titled “The representational nature of spatio-temporal recurrent processing in visual object recognition.” 🥳🌟 biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…
We were happy to participate in the local science fair in Giessen this year. We demonstrated some visual illusions, deep neural networks, and drawing tools we used for experiments there. theadaptivemind.de/public-outreac… @LuChunYeh @suzibot @EngeserMicha @maxbardelang
When a train go through a tunnel, we can’t see it, but still know it’s moving. What’s the neural mechanism to support this interpolating process for dynamic information? Come check my poster at @VSSMtg on Saturday afternoon 2:45 - 6:45 at Pavilion 😊 @maxbardelang @DKaiserlab
