I cant get over the fact that so many engineers still dont grok the fundamentals of what an LLM is. Repeat after me: its just pattern matching, it doesnt "know" anything
It's not rocket science.
Every year for the last 40 years, France has built more homes per person than England. If England built at French levels, it would have almost 3 million more homes. French homes are, on average, a fifth bigger that English homes.

Recommendations sought. I'm looking for a low profile, right angled high density (e.g. 0.5mm pitch) edge connector *that supports high mating cycles* and is not high insertion force. There may be M2 connectors that fit, but I can't find one that meets all criteria.
Went to the shop to buy teabags. Picked up @tetleyuk as it had a 'win £100' offer. Got home. "Now scan your receipt to win!" Um... I'm saving the planet here. Stopped getting paper receipts a long time ago. Yes, I know it's in the small print on the pack, but honestly...
Perhaps the thing here is that AI is solving the same "how do I tell a computer to do a thing?" problem as coding - but fails in new and interesting ways. We still need code because problems scale badly, and there's still room for improving how we express code, and how we teach.
Asking for new perspectives Getting people into computers and coding is all about the learning curve: not just the language but the whole environment, from the tools to the capabilities you can unlock. In the face of passive AI consumption, we need better learning environments.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation have set out the reasons why we should still teach kids to code in the face of an onslaught of AI tools. They're absolutely right. I'm not always convinced by their approach to education but on this I'm in total agreement. raspberrypi.org/blog/why-kids-…
