Received this gorgeous book in the mail this week! Thanks @Timothy_A_Lee and @Neo_Jerome for making this a reality! Nunc est legendum!

So much fun (slowly) reading through Luke 2, some of the Apophthegmata Patrum, and magical papyri after one week of intensive Coptic at the Macquarie Ancient Languages School this week!

Five months of on-again off-again relationship with Callirhoe, and I'm finally done!! Definitely has a place in my top 5 books of all time. Would highly recommend giving this a read if you're looking for a rollicking, drama-filled tale of romance and adventure!
This just arrived!! Inspired by @jackhardison's Greeking Out interview with Michael Kopf (@AGROS_edu) to read some fun koine outside the NT. 25 pages in and it's very, very fun and also quite readable! Very grateful for the vocab glosses though!
No better way to end the year!
It was lovely to spend some time on the final day of the year reading Hebrew with friends. There’s something special about sharing the nerdiness, noticing things that are absent in translation, debating verbal semantics, & just appreciating how lucky we are to be able to do this.
Is this the best thing I have ever done? Probably. To thank @cjfresch for an epic class, @Ljhodgson_ & I created a 3-folio Hexapla-style thank you note featuring Hebrew (unpointed, pointed, transliterated), Greek, Latin, & English. This is the definition of nerd fun.
Merry Christmas from myself and all my wonderful collaborators from around the globe! Stay tuned for exciting new books and projects in 2025!

Well, as the memory of summer still lingers, there's space for one last Loeb giveaway. This time it's Republican Latin: three vols of oratory & one of Ennius, father of Roman poetry! If you want to enter, just RT this message and we will pick a name from our followers on Tuesday.
My Greek Devotional Liturgy, with ENG translation as well. Inspired by the BCP and Daily prayers for Orthodox believers, this should be simple enough for newer Greek students, to over time get familiar with the text and use it devotionally. drive.google.com/file/d/1QDjSa1… #ancientgreek

Peak nerd with @Ljhodgson_. This is what happens when two super-nerd biblical languages students get to do a (very) specialised subject (seminar) with the amazing @cjfresch, biblical languages & linguistics extraordinaire! It’s gonna be an epic semester!!
And it's been an absolute blast! Reading Greek with friends is just the best!
Today @Ljhodgson_ & I finally finished reading Revelation in Greek! It felt fantastic!! I’m grateful for his patience & vocab hints (in Grk!). It’s amazing to see how far my Greek has come in a year. From not knowing the full verbal system, to flying through the last 3 chapters!
OK, our final -and biggest- Loeb give-away for the summer: 31 of them by the looks of it! Sophocles, Euripides, Cicero, Sallust, Suetonius, and the dirtiest poet of all, Martial in 3 vols. Draw 10pm Thurs BST: just RT and follow us before then! And vote below for 1 or 2 winners!
