We’re getting Britain building.   Sizewell C has officially been given the green light, with government the main shareholder.   Helping deliver clean, homegrown power to millions of homes, supporting thousands of jobs and unlocking growth across the country.

Visiting @Hestia1970 refuge in Croydon was a privilege. I saw first-hand the vital work being done to support women and children escaping domestic abuse. My government is committed to halving violence against women and girls in a generation - such refuges are a part of that.

Industrial Strategy on tour again today - hydrogen in the East Midlands then low carbon glass production in St Helens. This government is serious about delivering good jobs and energy security across the whole of the UK.

Croydon’s trams are over 20 years old, and I’ve continued to make the case for investment to the @MayorofLondon. Thanks to the multi-year funding settlement from this government, TfL is now moving forward with plans to procure a brand new fleet for our community.

Joined fellow Steel Council members at 7 Steel for our third meeting. The upcoming UK Steel Strategy – backed by £2.5bn – will secure a competitive future for the sector. Momentum is already building with new measures and investment announced in the Industrial Strategy.
