@NBCNews Producer and Off-Air Reporter covering Congress with historical context
Excited to share that I've been promoted to Producer & Off-Air Reporter with @NBCNews, managing coverage of the House of Representatives. I still stare up in awe at the dome every day and recognize what a privilege it is to do this for a living.

A House Oversight subcommittee approved a motion to direct Chairman Comer to issue a subpoena for Ghislaine Maxwell. The motion was offered by @RepTimBurchett during a hearing of the Subcommittee on Govt Operations. It passed by a voice vote with only four members present.

After more than 9 hours, the House adopted the rule to bring forward crypto legislation. The vote was 217-212. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was the only Republican who voted against the rule. Rep. Tom Massie did not vote.
The House vote on the rule for crypto bills has been open since just before 1:20pm, making this the longest vote in modern House history (since the start of electronic voting). The previous record was set two weeks ago during the “big, beautiful bill” process.

The House has now canceled votes for the rest of the day. Scalise offered a motion to reconsider to bring the rule back up for another vote but now the earliest that will happen is tomorrow.
The House defeated a procedural rule that would have allowed all of the crypto bills for the week to come to the floor. The vote was 196-223 with 13 Republicans voting against the measure with Democrats.
