I'm releasing a new epic fantasy over on Royalroad! It's a heroic fantasy tale of adventure with my style of progression system. LitRPG without the numbers. I've got something I think is a little better instead. Goblin slaying awaits in the link below!
It's called actually using color theory. It's not realistic in the slightest, and thus has been completely neglected by the gaming industry.
Is there a name for this aesthetic because it is stunning. We want to live in this.
WotC really went "EoE has shocklands, it'll sell. Moving on to Marvel!"
I swear, people do not know what ownership actually means. Posession, consumption, alteration, reproduction, and resale are all distinct facets of ownership. If you owned games on Steam like you used to own an N64 cartridge, you would be able to transfer them to a friend.
Ingedients are only one third the cost of the meal when you eat out. People tend to wildly overestimate both the quality of ingredients at a restaurant, as well as the incremental value of buying their preferred brand at the grocery store.
eating at home costing $60 with time and labor and eating outside costing $56.78. alright.
Today, I choose violence. If all the science in your science fiction is correct, then you're not writing science fiction.
Reality continues to remind me that I literally cannot make up how absurd and evil people can prove to be. Genuinely may need to overhaul BASTION/Blackstone 4.
It's only a matter of time before AI writers realize they have no value to offer and nobody will buy their book because they have access to the same AI and can just get their own custom book. The question is if this hype will burn out faster or slower than NFTs
If you didn't realize, we're about to get a feedback loop of humans imitating the speech patterns of AI, which are imitating humans.
The colored ink is needed so the printer can apply forensic watermarks so the government can identify who printed a document.
Can't tell if I'm depressed, or the algorithms are just serving me up absolute garbage lately.
Writers, if you find your readers insulting one another about understanding your story, do you step in at all?
Writing has to be the only creative art where the creator is expected to pay somebody else to vet their work before presenting it.
I see a lot of gamers dont know the difference between credit and debit. When you buy something with a credit card, you havent spent your money until you pay your bill at the emd of the month. The dev got paid with Visa or Mastercard's money.
Give your homies applicable constructive criticism to improve their work. Stop just telling them “it’s fire” because you don’t want to hurt their feelings. They can express themselves but tell them how to IMPROVE if it needs work.
I never see any other authors struggle with "Which of my ideas should I start next?"
Alright hear me out. It's a fantasy novel where all the magic is actually just science. Except it's tech from the 1950s
The draft for book 4 of my Blackstone series is done. Going to be a while before that publishes though. I've got three standalones in the same universe to edit and release first. I'll finally be able to say there is deep lore to be found
Ah, yes, the curation problem. To understand it, we have to have a long talk about Amazon. Amazon isn't killing the book industry. That oft-repeated allegation is completely and totally false. But it IS failing to save it. The practice at Amazon-the-large-conglomerate is…
This is something I agree with. Self-publishing is the future. The problem is how to separate the wheat from the chaft? The one "function " trad pub offered self-publishing does not have an answer for is as a quality controller to consumers. As a self-published author, I can…
I need to get back into painting miniatures. The box of grey shames me
