Great showing by Hamiti - Nasirkhaev was just runner up at Russian Nationals where he lost in the finals to #1 Akhmed Usmanov 6-0
Dean Hamiti (USA) pins No. 5 Mokhamed Nasirkhaev (RUS) at 79 kg! 🇺🇸💥 Huge statement win at PWL 9 as he takes out a top-5 opponent and puts Team USA on the board in a big way.
USA wrestled better than I thought against Russia, winning 4 of 10 bouts and pulling off three total upsets. Fun dual - hope to see more of this kind of event in the future!
Did Hamiti just walk out to "I've Been Working On The Railroad"?
Good showing for Luke against Mekhtikhanov…another point of data proving he’s right there with the best in the world at 57 kg

Gold for Trent Hidlay in Budapest! Excellent tourney for Trent, including a 7-2 win over 2X world medalist Maisuradze in the finals!
David Carr takes out 2-time world silver medalist Taimuraz Salkazanov! Carr won 4-4 in the bronze medal match - he was up 4-2 off 2 takedowns and gave up 2 late cautions. Big improvements from Carr - this avenges a 4-0 loss to Salkazanov from earlier this year.
Trent Hidlay is too powerful for Kurugliev! 1 takedown 52 seconds in and Kurugliev injury defaults. Hidlay moves on to the finals 💪
David Carr falls in the semis to Japan's Kota Takahashi - 8-7. Carr was down 6-0 in the second period before making a big comeback. This is the same Takahashi who defeated Mesenbrink at U23 Worlds last year. He also took out Salkazanov earlier in the tournament.
Huge win for Trent Hidlay over world medalist #4 Abubakar Abakarov! Hidlay will now wrestle #1 Dauren Kurugliev in the semifinals at 9:30 am (ET).

Insane robbery Lilledahl gets saved by the judges and is in semis
Luke Lilledahl beats #13 Islam Bazarganov, 3-1! Bazarganov was European bronze this year and last year - wins over Azamat Tuskaev, Muhammet Karavus, and Khateri. Only losses this year were to Spencer Lee (6-2) and Nachyn Mongush (5-0).
Luke Lilledahl's gold medal match is up next on Mat B! flowrestling.org/live/149395
