As a teacher, this is what I want to say to SOME parents: Stop making excuses for your kids. STOP IT. Teach them to earn things, not demand things. Hold them to a higher standard. Challenge them. That way, when I try to challenge them, theyβll know we both expect it.
Stop doing performative things. Stop doing icebreakers or hiring consultants to talk to us at PD that offer very little in the way of anything helpful. Stop making us go to PD sessions where all the presenter does is read from a PowerPoint. #TeachersOfTwitter
If we invested in teacher morale with the same intensity as we do in chasing the next great curriculum or initiative, our schools and students would be far better off.
