Rule Number One: Do not take a selfie to sign up for a gossip app while working on the flight line at a secret military base.
BBC sent 550 staff to cover Glastonbury btw.
The BBC has decided not to send its flagship Politics Live programme to party conferences this year, PolHome understands A former culture secretary said it was a "further erosion" of the BBC's political coverage, and urged the corporation to think again politicshome.com/news/article/b…
Co-Leader of @TheGreenParty yet I know almost nothing about you. That speaks volumes about your ability to connect with the electorate. Meanwhile @ZackPolanski has done a brilliant job of promoting the best things about the Green Party, and he's done it without putting you down.
So Jeremy Corbyn and Zara Sultana are indeed starting a new party. This blows Zack Polanski's leadership pitch out of the water. It's crucial now more than ever that we maintain a distinct Green Party identity as Ellie and me are arguing. Let's not become the support act.
Just make this ffs
First trailer for a new ‘WAR OF THE WORLDS’ movie set entirely on a computer screen starring Ice Cube. Releasing July 30 on Prime Video.
Nintendo's representative was quick to add, however, that Yoshi and Birdo's relationship is "inventively, expansively sexual" in ways that "most of us cannot hope to imagine"
Nintendo says that Mario and Peach are not a couple: “[They] are good friends and help each other out whenever they can.”
Private medical insurance is so cheap in the UK because the NHS effectively subsidises it by: - Training staff - Handling emergencies - Caring for complex & chronic cases - Bailing out private hospitals when things go wrong US insurance is 5-10x as much because there’s no NHS!
The average cost of private medical care in the U.K. is £79.59. How much do people spend on Sky, Netflix, Spotify etc…? Most people can afford private medical and should take it out. Brilliant service, privately run and fast access and delivery.
Thinking about a well-known medieval scholar of the medieval occult who stopped translating grimoires out of Latin because people kept emailing him when the spells didn’t work
The main problem with requiring IDs to visit porn sites is that your ever going to: A: give it to the government in which it eventually will be used by a far right government to target minorities & dissenters. B: give it to a company that’s not going to secure it very well-
I was always opposed to the OSA but I genuinely never imagined it would be quite this bad

GDPR introduced to comply with European Union law. Verify your identity through this government-mandate private company to access content the UK Govt considers "harmful" is a Brexit dividend.
UK Government- 2018: Here’s GDPR so you can limit what data you give to websites. 2025: Fuck it, send them a copy of your passport & face scan.
The draft Online Safety Bill simply proposes a ban on 'legal but harmful' content. This extremely vague law, if enacted, could lead to an unprecedented authoritarian crackdown on freedom of expression. However, the bill explicitly exempts content from the UK's mainstream media.
Just got reminded that I wrote this FOUR YEARS AGO about the potential authoritarian consequences of the then Online Safety Bill (now Act). And oh look, it’s all coming true. What a surprise.

Only people who have grown up with the technology should be able to legislate on it.

Everyone knows I’m no fan of Nick Tyrone, but this is an extremely disingenuous and disgusting thing to say. The Online Safety Act will do almost nothing to prevent children from accessing porn, and it may actually cause them to see more harmful content on unregulated sites.
Why do you want kids to be able to access porn?

The OSA may be one of the most stupid pieces of legislation ever passed

The Online Safety Act is bad enough in its current form, but the focus on adult content is clever because no one wants to be perceived as protesting for PornHub. No way it doesn't get extended to cover "protecting kids from Extreme Politics" eventually though
Wikipedia is one of the few remaining unalloyed Good Things about the internet... so *of course* it's being put at risk by the Online Safety Act.
