Clinical Neuroscience. Trail running. Opinions expressed are my own.
Sad to be missing #OHBM2024 in Seoul, but hoping to attend vicariously through @jadynspark who will be presenting her work on on how emotional enhances narrative memories through functional integration of large-scale brain networks Wed/Thurs! Stop by poster 1705 to learn more!
Why do we sometimes rely on habits, even when they conflict with our goals? In our new preprint, 'A dopaminergic basis of behavioral control,' we explore how dopamine in the striatum influences the trade-off between automatic and goal-directed action. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Check out this work by @ej_rise at #SfN24 on using ultra high field MRI here at @USCLONI to dissect limbic/motor circuitry! Excited to see these results out!
We have exciting LEAP + Grafton Lab work at #SfN24! Come chat with me about multi-echo fMRI + the intersection of limbic/motor circuitry Mon AM, LBA93 🧠 🏃♀️@SfNtweets
At #SfN24? I'll be presenting work w/ @johndmurray on Sat. 1pm at poster N34 on contingency representations in PFC unifying goal-directed planning and WM. And, I'll be recruiting for my new lab (jam-lab.org) starting Jan '25 at @UMiamiPsych - feel free to reach out!

Check out our new paper and Ian's thread on how we used neural networks to design stim. sets that deconvolve low- and high-level visual properties. Hopefully more groups can use this for their own research!
New paper alert! How do low-level visual properties influence decision-making? We developed an approach to tackle that question using deep neural networks to design a stimulus set that teases apart low from high-level visual properties. @eccvconf arxiv.org/abs/2409.02241
👀 — this is such a cool study! precision fMRI in depression uncovers a new expanded salience marker and tracks it over time in individuals.
The symptoms of depression might come and go, but new evidence suggests that the pattern of brain wiring behind it remains the same for life go.nature.com/3AS480h
We used Bayesian methods by @rubykong92 and colleagues to look at individualized networks in cognitively unimpaired, high amyloid load individuals. Check out poster 443 today!

Wow! So much work to be presented. Make sure to reach out if any of the following looks interesting to you.

Great to see this out. Glad to be part of an incredible group that worked hard for introducing new methods for harmonizing tau PET. Congrats to @AntoineLeuzy, Lars, @OskarHansson9, @vincentDore2.
Harmonizing tau PET in Alzheimer’s disease: The CenTauR scale and the joint propagation model A first step towards a Centiloid equivalent for Tau PET. Great to see this published; I really enjoyed the discussions with the Working Group (and look forward to the next steps).…
