The Showboats never had a prayer here. It's already semi-pro football and they were awful from the start. Never attended a game and never felt compelled to. I will say, they lasted two more seasons than I thought they would

It should be obvious but I do just want to say my depression/existential dread from today’s news is separate of the effort being put forth by Memphis and the administration. Everyone involved is clearly doing everything humanly possible to get Memphis out.
I’d love to be wrong about this but before anyone gets excited about the ACC I think Cal and Stanford would cease their athletic departments before they shared a league with Memphis
