You should always pay attention to whatever David says. He is one of the most philosophically consistent conservative voices in the country.

The Fed’s stuck: inflation isn’t falling, growth is slowing, and tariffs add new risks. Markets want cuts, Trump demands cuts — but the data says not yet, writes @JohnFMauldin mauldineconomics.com/frontlinethoug… #Economy #EconomyNews #EconomyMonetary #inflation #fintwit #Fed…
Ok, too funny. @ScottAdamsSays Scott, I wonder how many will get that the rename is a reference to 2021-22? That is just awesome inside baseball humor. I bet even Powell laughs.
Maybe
Rick, there is 1 billion people for whom Solar cannot even begin to supply their biggest needs. The developed countries would arrogantly assigned them into poverty for their and their children’s lives to withhold energy. It is time for the climate cult to realize they condemn…
John, in addition, 1,000,000,000,000 people on earth currently have no access to electricity. We will connect them in the next twenty years.
Nick, i would like you to show me that proof. And the proof that renewables can power an AI facility 24-7.
And, if you assume solar and batteries continue their downward descent in pricing, they become so much cheaper than NatGas in 1-2 years. Remember it takes 5 years for a natgas plant to be built. My proof: 90-95% of all capacity additions are renewables.
Totally agree. It is literally delusional to now be building nuclear as fast as we can.
The US is woefully behind in the energy race to power AI. Nuclear plants need to be built, yesterday.
Following that last post? why will energy use double in the AI in cloud computing world? Because that’s where the money is going. Look at how much capex spending is going up. And whether it’s AI or robotics or home delivery, it is energy intensive. And the rest of the world which…

I keep talking about the power hungry AI and cloud computing world. This amount of energy will not be met by solar or wind. It is primarily going to be initially natural gas, and hopefully ultimately Nuclear. Anybody thinking otherwise is not being realistic. This goes through…

At root, the NPR story and the Colbert story are the same: progressives took over a product, made it so that people didn’t want to pay it for it—whether via advertising, subscriptions, or donations—and they’re now upset that it won’t be perpetually bailed out by a third party.
Mr. Secretary - don’t you think it would be helpful to offer some examples of what “course” and “messaging” they are offering that you are uncomfortable with?
Effective today, I have resigned from the Advisory Board of UATX. While I believe very much in the importance of competition and innovation in higher education, and see major problems with the lack of diverse perspective in elite institutions, I am not comfortable with the course…
David Bahnsen reflects on the 25-year-old cautionary tale from the AOL-Time Warner merger, to emphasize that value creation doesn’t come from bold headlines or flashy synergy promises. It comes from disciplined execution and fundamental business strength. In a world of market…
Why is this not front page news?
Syrian Human Rights Organization reports that more than 250 Druze have been massacred since the latest attacks. There are reports that the government backed terrorists have kidnapped and raped girls under the age of 10 in front of their parents. It’s October 7th all over again.…
The Chinese actually reached an all-time high in buying lithium and other mines in 2024. They did 10 deals over $100 million. Perhaps it is not just the rare earth that they have in there country that we should be concerned about.

There was a great debate among economists in the late 30s about whether the government spending should be included in GDP. When FDR looked into it, he found the GDP would be bigger if you’ve included government spending. He opted for the optics of larger GDP. Go figure. That…
All government spending is consumptive. All government spending takes productive capital away from the economy. People have been fed a destructive lie that government spending spurs growth. It doesn’t.
This is must read. Best analysis of the OBBBA I have read. @DavidBahnsen
This needs to be read and internalized. @DavidBahnsen so many “conservatives” think they understand how the economy works, but in practice it is different than theory. They want the world to conform to their theory and it just doesn’t work like that. Pay attention to what David…
You caught one of the main points. What it means is slower economic growth.
Just read weekly column. The major point I took was relocation of debt. Private business debt attached to repressible people & business is moved to Govt ie We The People. Risk is being socialized. We all own the debt but we don't own the profits. Borrowers w.o. risk insured and…
Stability Breeds Instability, is the market having its "Minksy Moment"? @JohnFMauldin explains how there are mixed signals from the market, and how we are, right now, in the late portion of the speculative finance stage. mauldineconomics.com/frontlinethoug…
Thanks for the kind words Chris. We are digging the hole deeper. @winsletts
I've been reading @JohnFMauldin since before Twitter existed. It's times like these, when things are completely uncertain that his newsletters cut through the crap: mauldineconomics.com/frontlinethoug…
This is just basic economic word garbage. You know what leads to economic impoverishment? Socialistic management of the economy by the state. Full stop.

The need of the hour in conservatism is not "team ball" but honest ball that is movement-driven. The new "big, beautiful bill" has been a great opportunity for objective, conservative analysis, praising what is good and criticizing what is bad. Watching some "conservatives"…
