One goal in life!
This glorious green sky fairy is a luna moth, one of the largest moths in North America. Adults don’t even have mouths. You heard that right. No snacking. No sipping. Just living to mate.
When people were sheltering in place during Covid, farmworkers kept producing food for the country. Americans didn’t even have to go into a store to get their daily food. Meanwhile, on the farm, we all kept working, nonstop, not only extreme work, but at risk of the pandemic.

How many of you have eaten sweet corn raw and like it? 🌽😋

Beautiful tomatoes in beautiful Italy! We cannot imagine wonderful Italian food without tomatoes. We can thank the indigenous peoples of Mexico for domesticating tomatoes and the Spanish explorers for taking them to the old world.

On my daily commute to the farm I counted 41 of these tomato🍅 trucks on an 11 mile stretch on I-5. That’s almost one every 1/4 mile, one every 15 seconds! I-5 is a red river! Tomato harvest runs 24/7 through the summer. California produces 95% of the tomatoes in the US.

The red pistachios were grown in Iran, and were dyed red to hide dark blemishes. They had blemishes because Iran had poor processing facilities. Today, pistachios are grown in CA with modern facilities that produce nuts in their natural color. No dyes needed!
What ever happened to these?!🤷🏻♂️🤔🤔🤔

If there was automation to replace people, farmers would already be using it. If Americans wanted these jobs, they would already be working in them. If Americans want their food grown in the US, they need to support American farmers. JMHO

Going to have some fun with this! CA grows about 11.3 million tons of tomatoes 🍅 a year. That’s about 452,000 truckloads like this one. If 452,000 trucks lined up bumper-to-bumper, the line would be 6,420 miles long! That’s San Francisco to Washington, DC., and halfway back!
It has begun! The river of red is flowing in Central California. #cannery #tomatoes #tomatotrucks #FresnoCounty @fcfb_ag
Hope you’re enjoying this 4th of July with some ice cold, sweet watermelon. Please keep in mind that these farmworkers worked this past weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in 98 degree temperatures so the watermelons would be on your store shelf in time for the holiday!

Had a great farm visit by Juan Garza, Vice Chair of @mwdh2o. It’s important for Californians to understand and collaborate on water use and challenges. Water for people, water for food. #CAwater #farms #food #CAgrown

If you could name a melon that looks like this, what would you name it?

If you shop at @Publix Super Markets, these sweeties are coming your way! Organic cantaloupes and honeydews. From our sunny California farm. We pick them vine-ripened all summer.
What I see when I walk the fields. This is how much our organic processing tomatoes have grown in the past 5 weeks. The beds are 80” wide, and they are irrigated by buried drip tape. They are still about 6 weeks from harvest. #CAgrown @CCOForganic @DelBosqueFarms
