Flee foolish controversies. 2 Timothy 2:23; Titus 3:9
Good day, saints! Rejoice! God’s free grace in Christ has freed you from taking yourself and others too seriously today.
Some doctrines are indeed a test of orthodoxy (e.g. God as Trinity and Christ our Mediator). Other doctrines are tests of fellowship (e.g. ordinances and church polity). Still other doctrines are little more than a test of charity (e.g. eschatology) You know you’re growing…
When every doctrine becomes a test of orthodoxy, every disagreement is a holy war to be fought, and every opponent, an enemy to be vanquished.
Sometimes, in a relatively thoughtless attempt to be cheeky, you get your butt handed to you on Twitter/X. 😆 No need to save face. Just take the kick to the 🍑 like a man. Haha. Well played.
He did, in fact. And thoroughly. amazon.com/Fathers-Future…
We love zero-based budgeting with @ynab because it’s gives “every dollar a job.” Similarly, I do well when I try budget time like money, giving every minute a job. For that, the @structured_app is top notch. Check it out: structured.app
No parent has ever said, “Boy, we sure wish that we gave our child a phone earlier than we did.” But countless myriad parents now lament, “Man, we sure wish we would have waited longer than we did. If only we knew then what we know now.”
Hey @grok, based on ALL my tweets, I am: Which dictator? Which theologian? Which philosopher? Which fictional character? Which politician? Which religious figure? Which historical figure? Which artist?
MiddleEarthPaul Based on your tweets' theological depth, Reformed Baptist focus, LOTR love, and grace-centered bio: Dictator: Oliver Cromwell (Puritan strongman). Theologian: Charles Spurgeon. Philosopher: Thomas Aquinas. Fictional: Aragorn (Middle-earth king).…
My kids will never understand.
Not to brag, but I was alive when you could slam the phone down to hang up on someone. It was spectacular.
Loving, serving, and submitting to the Lord Jesus Christ means loving, serving, and submitting to a true, orderly, local church. There is no other way.
I was so glad that this brother and his sweet family were able to gather with us for several months in between jobs. Pray for them as they begin a new job with @TexAgs in College Station, that they might quickly unite with a confessional Baptist church in the area. I love it…
What a blessing to meet @Braylen1689 and his beautiful family today!
Hey @dustinbattles! Welcome to the Great Republic, brother! Looking forward to watching the Lord work through your ministry. Hopefully we can connect soon for some Tex-Mex and mutual encouragement.
Thankful to the Lord to have (most of*) the elders (plus a retired elder) to lay hands on me to start this new work of pastoring here. *One elder was sick and one was working at the fire station so he’s on FaceTime on the iPad in front of me if you look closely.
