The first baby step by Trump @US_FDA to “save vaping”. A welcome one. But there’s more to do to save lives. nypost.com/2025/07/17/bus…
Our RCT published today in @AnnalsofIM found #vaping is THREE TIMES more effective than NRT in disadvantaged smokers (n=1045) After 6m ➡️28.4% of the vaping group had quit vs ➡️9.6% in the NRT group (continuous abstinence, CO verified) More ⤵️ colinmendelsohn.com.au/NVPs @clive_bates
The urgent need for the FDA to sensibly regulate a variety of reduced risk alternatives to deadly cigarettes strikes me as both intuitive and obvious. Nevertheless, opinions do vary.
My #GFN25 Michael Russell Oration is up! I start with recapping the state of the (flawed) science and what I think are the root causes in the academic system.

I love farmers’ market season, so it’s time to revisit this from 2008. Buzzkill ⚠️: Instead of throwing $ for pricey organic food at the problem…encourage behavioral change – perhaps to take a cooking class & get veggie vouchers for graduating. nypost.com/2008/07/22/dr-…
TPA applauds @US_FDA's decision to authorize Juul’s tobacco & menthol e-cigarettes—an overdue step toward real harm reduction. For too long, overregulation has blocked safer alternatives that help millions of smokers quit. protectingtaxpayers.org/press/watchdog…

The best way to fight illicit vapor products is for @FDATobacco to now begin authorizing the flavored e-cigarettes which are appropriate for the protection of the public health. The failure to authorize these lifesaving alternatives to cigarettes is what drove the illicit market.
Down 5-0 and being no hit through 7. Scored in the 8th, tied it in the 9th. Walked it off in the 10th. Yankees walk it off.
But let's be real. Almost no teens vape those products "at least one time in the past 30 days." Teen daily use of those products is near nil. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person on Earth who actually reads what @CDCgov surveys actually show.
David @zaruk has been doing a brilliant job calling out junk science for a long time. Now he’s calling out the nefarious system of “journalism” making the activists appear legitimate. substack.com/home/post/p-14… h/t @Clive_Bates
What an uplifting afternoon discussing the law, the benefits of limited government and the wide-ranging opportunities and importance of a career in law and public service —with New York’s brightest young legal scholars, together with The Honorable James d'Auguste.

I asked Aaron Boone for a win and boy did he deliver. As did Jazz

Do @FDATobacco next.
When we can minimize the burden on the healthcare system, while at the same time ensuring that benefits outweigh risks, we will! The FDA has taken a big step in removing barriers impeding the delivery of cures by removing the REMS requirement for BCMA- and CD19-directed…
Wait, I think you meant this tweet to be scheduled to go out on April 1.
