NEW: My Dad was the fourth resident of his nursing home (@HudsonPointe_HC) to get #coronavirus. No one told me about the first and a NY State Dept of Health policy did not require notification. That policy changed on April 4, five days before my dad died. propublica.org/article/corona…
Below, our story on Rikers Island and Michael Nieves, a detainee who bled out for 10 mins as guards stood by. We spent 3 years filing FOIA requests and lawsuits to get these videos of conditions in the jail. w/ @Jan_Ransom @sskerrr Caroline Kim @laforgia_ youtube.com/watch?v=kJvhdE…

Absolutely unacceptable. The video is incredibly disturbing, but shines another light on how dysfunctional and dangerous New York’s jails and prisons are. Nieves should be alive today.

Truly horrifying footage. It took medical ten minutes to arrive while a CO stood and watched Nieves essentially bleed to death from a cut to his neck.

Not a word about: 1. sexual harassment allegations 2. nearly $30M & counting of taxpayer money spent to defend Cuomo & aides 3. personally overseeing a misleading account of nursing home deaths - ny1.com/nyc/all-boroug… - ny1.com/nyc/all-boroug…
Speaking to reporters after his speech, Cuomo was asked by @morganfmckay what he regretted as gov. He said he wishes he would've "added more police to the MTA" and prepared better for the pandemic (though he cuts himself some slack, claiming he couldn't have predicted COVID).
BIG NEWS: The New York Attorney General's Office said in a request for recusal “that as many as NINE corrections officers caused the death of Messiah Nantwi or committed acts that contributed thereto, and thereby committed a crime.” nytimes.com/2025/03/06/nyr…
