Hey, @grok, who was the most famous person to visit my profile? It doesn't need to be a mutual, don't tag them, just say who it was.

1. Deficits and the 'national debt' When neoclassical economists talk about the national debt, they assume that governments operate in the same way as households or as businesses getting a loan to invest for growth, which they have to pay back. If loans are not paid back there
Why is It easier for people to believe 🏴 was colonised, it was extinguished but 🏴 continues and we need permission than it is to believe the fact 🏴 continues as an equal with all her rights, laws & constitution intact giving her the ability to go when she wants?
Hey @neilcgray covid isn’t spread by droplets. Time to change your ph strategy
I am so furious reading this. The data in this study that shows CONCLUSIVELY that covid is airborne was gathered in *2022*. They did the old 'hamsters in a tube' test. So simple and absolutely conclusive, and yet there are STILL PEOPLE PRETENDING IT'S NOT AIRBORNE.
Jackie, Ardrossan is a private harbour who’s owners won’t invest in it/
The SNP ferry fiasco continues… Scotland’s island and coastal communities deserve better. x.com/connorgillies/…
1. If you are in the US or the UK someone should remind you that tax revenues don't fund government spending. All government spending is new money. The US issues the US dollar and the UK issues the UK pound. They can't run out of something they issue themselves.
Zarah. We don’t need billionaires or millionaires to pay more taxes to fund 🇬🇧gov spending as it creates new £ when it spends. This means it can afford to fund things properly. Not doing so is ideological We do need wealth taxes to stop hoarding of £ & concentration of power.
UK billionaires added £182,000,000,000 to their wealth last year. That’s £35,000,000 every single day. Their combined wealth is £795,361,000,000. So don't let anyone tell you austerity is a “necessity”. There’s more than enough wealth to fund our NHS, public services & welfare.
Kevin. You need to understand that taxes don’t fund Ukgov spending due to it being a fiat currency issuer. All taxes it collects are destroyed.
The UK Treasury has lost £45 Billion every year since Brexit. That’s money that could have been spent on public services. Scotland did not vote for the madness of Brexit and the economic pain that it has caused. Scotland needs independence to be back at the heart of Europe.
Nuclear power plants provide clean, reliable energy while having the smallest land footprint of any energy source. By continuing to operate these facilities, we can generate abundant carbon-free power while preserving natural habitats and wilderness areas.
THREAD 1🧵 I asked ChatGPT about the bond market. I started with the simple statement “let’s abolish the bond market” Remember AI is “trained” on a variety of sources 📖 but it’s interesting to see how my AI conversation continued, initially it started with this ⬇️
Dave, when are you & your colleagues going to state in wm that the ukgov is a fiat currency issuer & there is no reason for it to implement cuts. If they want to save money tell them to stop paying £40bn+ they pay in interest to the already rich for having bonds
✂️ Darren Jones hinted at incoming cuts and further austerity earlier today. ❌ This is yet another blatant betrayal of Labour’s pre-election promises. 🎗️ Only the SNP will stand up for Scotland against endless Westminster cuts.
Hi @shanaz17 I read this piece on the bbc site & it is unfortunately not correct as the ukgov does not rely on taxes & bonds / gilts to fund its spending. This is because it is a fiat currency issuer creating net £s every time it spends. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
2024 started hopeful and went to shite within 3 weeks. Good to see it continued like that for the whole year up to today. 2024 can well and truly GTF!!!!
I hope you told them that pensions are reserved
🏴 BBC Scotland asked me today if Scot Gov should pay for DWP maladministration of #WASPI case now that UK Government won't!? This is where we've got to in the UK 🤦♂️
The 1707 union was not a marriage of 2 imperialist kingdoms
A strange colony that has its own legal system. This just sounds like feelgood historical illiteracy. Especially when heard from Scotland's first colony, Ulster. Someone should Plant some facts in his head. Here's one: 1707 was a marriage of two imperialist states.
